Default My car is almost a teenager

Yesterday was the 12th anniversary of my taking delivery of my car. To celebrate, it drank all the 0W-20 LiquiMoly it could take (with filter), got new tires, new spark plugs, new transmission fluid and a brake flush. The interior is sticky enough that you’d think it had cake and ice cream too.

It will hit 100k miles later this year.

Congrats! My MY14 V6S just rolled over 60k miles. Good to know yours is still growling 40k later!

Congratulations! I know I'm an outlier who's just had to replace the engine at 34K but I still think it's a great engine and pretty reliable when serviced well (which was the case, too).

It's been nice to have the experience to break in an F-type engine 7 years after it left the assembly line when I could never dream to afford one! It will be having it's first oil change at 1K miles soon.

love hearing about major landmarks hit. not a x152 but on my 12 x150 XKR with the same/similar 5.0L S/C AJ133 engine I'm at 142.3k miles and counting.... I bought it with 10.5k miles one other owner off lease. SO. when I hit 250k miles I can say I drove it to the moon (239k miles I believe?). When I hit 260.5k miles God willing...thats when I can say I drove it a quarter mill myself.

It doesn't look that old. Plus, I think the more amazing stat is how many of those 100K miles were driven with the top down......

What kind of sneakers did you end up getting?

Congratulations, Dave! A valued member of the clowder. Mine just hit 12 years to the build date (but not quite to delivery yet). At 40k, she's had a pretty easy life - give or take a few runs on the Tail of the Dragon. Like yours, she gets regular maintenance, and rarely gets wet, except for cat baths. We take good care of each other.

Of course, in another year, as teenagers, they may become feral.

Congrats!

Mine is a 2015 MY and has about 70k miles (reman engine at 60k miles). Just got a new set of tires (conti extreme contact sport 02 xl’s). Also getting some new front control arms and a realignment. Love this car!

Like yours, my buttons and some other parts are sticky as hell. One of passengers asked if one of my kids spilled coke on the door it is so sticky!

Converse doesn’t make anything for a 19” rim () so I stuck with Michelin PS4S. My 3rd set, I think.

My 2016 is about to hit 30k and I have yet to allow it to get wet other than its baths it gets every few weeks. I live in AZ and the couple times it started to rain, I was faster than the storm and able to get it into the garage before she could get dirty. I cannot believe she is going on 10 years old. Love to see stories of people putting the miles with smiles on their car.
