My official 1/4 mile ET (time and speed) today- V8S- Another data point
I had an opportunity to go to Ennis, Texas for some quarter mile runs today With Bill D., another Jag driver. I still had a hard time getting hooked up off the line as evidensed by my poor 60' time below however I was able to get some pretty nice runs in none the less. My best time is attached.
Parameters:
82F
600' field elevation
1/2 tank of gas
Dynamic Mode
Traction control on (Tried it in Track DSC and spun even worse!)
Car weight, (Minus driver) 3930 LBS on track official scale
Ended up with a 12.066 ET at 123.08 MPH
No question a professional could get a better launch than me and I do believe this is a 11.6-11.7 ET car with the right driver and tires.
Remember my car has the smaller pulley and Eurocharged Tune. There is no question this makes a significant difference over the stock performance.

Thanks for the info. You must be happy with the trap speed. Did you run factory tire pressure? I have no idea if that matters, but I was at the track this weekend and ran 33psi cold (factory rec is 36) and it felt much better. Probably could go down a couple of more psi.
Thanks Vic!
Factory pressures
Traction control on
Tried Trac DSC but seemed to spin the wheels more. Obviously a very fine line between too much power and spinning and not enough power and bogging down. I would need a lot more practice to perfect it and I don't really care to. I just wanted another pulley and tune data point to validate the mod. This ET does it for me.

Not really my mission. I just wanted to see what the car would do on the tires I use on the street. No question MTs would change the launch dramatically.

Yes, a pretty heavy car.

Again my point to all this was just to get another data point to show that the Eurocharged pulley and tune on my car made a performance difference. Unfortunately I did not have before 1/4 mile runs but comparing this to other stock runs I believe there is a pretty big improvement.
Here is a stock V8S.
Here are his times:

We are running pretty much the same ET but look at his 60' time of 1.838 vs my 2.230. That is a significant difference. I am much slower to 60' and we are both running stock tires. I think it is a combination or two things. My shitty launch capabilities and probably the extra torque I have wanting to spin the wheels.
Another significant thing to take away from this comparison is that my ending MPH is 123.08 vs his 117.04. If I could get his launch to 60' that would take off almost 4/10s of a second and put me in the 11.6 second range.
I suspect his OAT was cooler than my 82 degrees also.
Again I'm not doing this to set any records just add data points to what my car is doing now with the pulley and tune I have. There is so little information on these types of mods I simply wanted to add information for those also desiring this type of modification but are still sitting on the fence awaiting more information.

Here's a link to a RWHP calculator. Be sure to put in the weight with driver. My car (XFR-S) came out almost spot-on.
