I managed to identify a garage in Germany at least willing to do the installation around March 2024 (https://www.xdreamcaraudio.de/).
Important would be a good preparation to make this a one-time visit. If you are interested/willing, we could stick the heads together Markus.
I would have contacted you directly, but seems I don't have yet a full membership to send PMs.

if you have all parts you need, installation is done within 30 minutes!
The only problem is changing the CCF and you need to find someone, who has a pathfinder dongle incl. Jaguar software PLUS CCF Editor ...

Markus.

I am trying to find a Jaguar indy who could do the CCF editing in Bay Area, California, no luck so far.

I already sourced the 10SV display. What happens if plugging it in and mounting it, without any software/CCF update? Will it still display but with the 8" graphics? I was hoping to at least test the new display works this way. What about the physical buttons that would go away?

Trying to see if I can already install the new display and later find a place for the CCF piece.

yes, you can install the 10 inch display. It will work, but you will have a big black bar in the graphics ....
And (I do jot know if this is only with my car) the rearview will nit work, sensors yes ;-)

Greetings,

Markus.

Thumbs up

I was finally able to get Pathfinder CCF flashing working using a local DSFM server!
The newly installed 10SV display works, with CarPlay finally!. This is a huge improvement.
Connecting to home WiFi feature also shows up for the first time (unlike car hotspot only before), allowing the vehicle to download latest software update from 19C to latest 22A.

The CCF parameters I changed are

Parking sensors work, parallel parking assist works.

Unfortunately the rear camera feed no longer works as many have stated before.
I know I need to reflash it but that's seemingly not sufficient to reflash the same 2018 FW on it. It would need to be reflashed with the 2019 FW.
I am guessing I would have to manually force Pathfinder IPMB Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number JX53-14D480-AG to wild guess even newer like JX53-14D480-AH?
I don't know how to do force this with Pathfinder since it thinks the module is up to date. If anyone has any idea on this, it would be amazing to get it going.

I also can't figure out where the IPMB is located physically so I could buy a 2019 one and replace it, I heard it's located behind the passenger seat back but I haven't found any module there despite taking everything apart.

Oh wow, this is super helpful, glad you got most everything working! Did you have to get other software besides Pathfinder/subscription to change the CCF (I assume that's how you can run a local server)?

The no rear camera is a huge bummer, but hope you can figure it out. Now that someone else has done it, maybe i'll finally buy that dongle haha.

Also did you purchase a power supply to hook up to the battery/car while flashing? It seems to be recommended but I'm not sure which one to get.

Thanks again for sharing!

Required bits
- Pathfinder v374. No subscriptions required.
- DSFM Server, to upload modified As Built / As In files. This is a standalone program on the same machine running Pathfinder.
- CCF editor to modify the VBF entries before flashing with Pathfinder, by uploading to local DSFM Server
- DA-DOIP dongle, for Pathfinder to communicate with the vehicle. Dongle requires some host software to be installed https://www.diagnostic-associates.co...da-doip-dongle
- 55A power supply from https://www.donrowe.com/iota-dls-55-...r-p/dls-55.htm
- Jumper cables to connect power supply to car battery

After doing more research on the rear camera, I am pretty sure I need to find a way to force a IPMB flash from JX53-14D480-AG to newer JX53-14D480-AH that appears to be tied to 2019 widescreen models which makes sense.
I will try that soon.

Cool

🎉 Great news! I got the rear camera working. The parking assist lines and parking sensors also appear.

The key to this was to force flash my 2018 IPMB with newer 2019 IPMB software. It is not enough to reflash the latest stock 2018 IPMB software.
This finding also implies that CCF only solutions are not sufficient (e.g. IIDTools), as fixing the camera requires additional diagnostic software that can flash modules (such as Pathfinder, Topix, JET PRO or others).
To avoid reflashing IPMB, one presumably would have to buy and replace the module off eBay with one that already has the new software, but I am not sure if that will work out of the box without for example VIN learning (which may fail for used modules) and again requires diagnostic software.

Specifically I had to force update IPMB from what was previously latest version for the vehicle to the following:

Assembly part number JX53-19G490-AG -> KX53-19G490-AC
ECU Network Signal Calibration Number JX53-14D479-BB
Vehicle Manufacturer ECU Software Number JX53-14D480-AG -> JX53-14D480-AH
ECU Calibration Data #1 Number JX53-14D485-AH -> KX53-14D485-AC
The last two here are critical. The AH software payload alone was not sufficient, I had to also flash the calibration file to get the camera working.
I determined these by finding the 2019 F-Type IPMB flash files. The 2019 already comes with 10" and has the a almost identical IPMB part number (DE instead of DD) with slightly newer software (AH instead of AG).
Electronic control unit core assembly number HX73-14D478-DD -> HX73-14D478-DE

The way to force Pathfinder into doing this is to
1. Edit C:\Program Files (x86)\AVL_DiTEST\Pathfinder\data\Diagnosis\IVS\X15 2\JX53-19G490-AG.xml
2. Update the following lines accordingly, red is changed. See KX53-19G490-AC.xml for the 2019 reference.

Before:
<softwareComponentPart partType="Strategy" filePN="JX53-14D480-AG" frozenStatus="True" partLineageId="JX5314D480AG 00007" successorPartNumber="JX53-14D480-AH" predecessorPartNumber="JX53-14D480-AF" filePNPid="F188" partIsDiscontinued="ACTIVE" fileDateModified="Mar-20-2022 21:07:56">
<compliance complianceFlag="False"/>
</softwareComponentPart>
<softwareComponentPart partType="ECU Configuration" filePN="JX53-14D485-AH" frozenStatus="True" partLineageId="JX5314D485AH 00008" predecessorPartNumber="JX53-14D485-AG" filePNPid="F124" partIsDiscontinued="ACTIVE" fileDateModified="Mar-20-2022 21:07:56">
<compliance complianceFlag="False"/>
</softwareComponentPart>
After:
<softwareComponentPart partType="Strategy" filePN="JX53-14D480-AH" frozenStatus="True" partLineageId="JX5314D480AH 00008" predecessorPartNumber="JX53-14D480-AG" filePNPid="F188" partIsDiscontinued="ACTIVE" fileDateModified="Mar-20-2022 21:07:56">
<compliance complianceFlag="False"/>
</softwareComponentPart>
<softwareComponentPart partType="ECU Configuration" filePN="KX53-14D485-AC" frozenStatus="True" partLineageId="KX5314D485AC 00003" predecessorPartNumber="KX53-14D485-AB" filePNPid="F124" partIsDiscontinued="ACTIVE" fileDateModified="Mar-20-2022 21:07:56">
<compliance complianceFlag="False"/>
</softwareComponentPart>
3. Start Pathfinder and select ECU Diagnostics > IPMB
4. Select "Reflash ECU". This may quickly fail the first time. Retry. Pathfinder should show a progress bar with Downloading JX53-14D480-AH.vbf. Make sure it's AH instead of AG. After it's done downloading, it erase, flash then will ask to do a VIN Learn and On Demand Self Test. This should pass successfully.
5. Done! Try Start the engine, put the car in Reverse and check the camera. Make sure to have the trunk closed while testing. Enjoy and jump around with excitement.

Here is what it looks like in Pathfinder after flashing:

The 8->10" upgraded display with working cameras & sensors!

@pistol wow, that is great news, glad you were able to get the camera working!

Just wanted to thank you again for the updates, it's been hard trying to find information from someone who has done the procedure, this will all be super helpful when I give it a try. I just ordered the power supply and dongle, fingers crossed

I just purchased a 2018 F-type R with the 8" nav screen and am hoping to be able to upgrade to a 10". I read through this thread, I'm glad someone was finally able to figure out the camera issue. To summarize, what exactly do I need to purchase? A 10" screen and a trim? I saw someone asked about which trim to buy. Does anyone have part numbers they can recommend to look for? Thank you

I'm currently going through this process, so hopefully once I'm able to successfully get the CCF updated, I'll be able to help more Make sure to read @pistol 's posts as they are super helpful!

For hardware you'll need:
10" screen (GX6319C299AE) - this can be from any number of modern jags
Screen bracket (
T2R26653) - this is the metal bracket that the screen bolts onto, this is F-Type '19+ specific, so it has to be this part
Screen bezel (T2R38268) - this is the plastic bezel that goes around the screen, also F-Type '19+ specific, weirdly expensive

Dremel to cut off some bits to make the bracket fit

thank you for that response. I will start looking for those parts. What software/hardware will you be using to update your CCF?

Sure! Going to try to use Pathfinder to update the CCF - running into some issues getting it up and running. You'll need this to connect the car to your laptop: https://www.diagnostic-associates.co...da-doip-dongle

Oh ok, does that dongle also come with the software? Very expensive, I wonder if something like a VxDiag would work instead? Those are also fully compliant with SAE J2534-1 and SAE J2534-2 standards

Any updates on your project? I finally got my screen and trim. Hoping to figure out who can update the CCF for me locally so I don't have to buy my own tool.

@pistol Is your Pathfinder software official JLR? Does it require an online account to do the update/reflash? I found some china VCI copy with the JLR software, however it's not online activated (needs an official account of course). Will I be able to do the reflash with it?

Have done all the hardware parts - unfortunately with the JLR hack I can't do the CCF change yet :\

Do you need online JLR access in order to flash the CCF? I ordered a chinese Pathfinder with a VCI that has all the offline functions. Hoping I can flash the CCF offline. Maybe you can share the file for the updated CCF software?

I got my Pathfinder working with my VCI from China, hoping to try it on the car this week or next. Where do I find the DSFM Server program? Tried to google, haven't found it

Ok slowly figuring out how to use Pathfinder. I just connected to the car, but it did not create a VBF file in the Temp folder. My computer is currently not connected to the internet and as far as I know the JLR servers are still down. Do I need to have an online connection for it to create a VBF file? Also, I'm assuming I need to figure out the offline DSFM Server. I found a guy selling a program on eBay, I'm assuming I'll need to purchase that? Any help @pistol would be appreciated.
