Best cruise control ever. Doesn't waiver more than 1-2 mph.

I have over time discovered two things about the manual transmission F-Type:

1. Hill-assist only works when the car is in 1st gear. It will roll back freely immediately in neutral or in any of the gears other than 1st.
2. The ECO feature fails to start the engine if you simultaneously depress the clutch and put it into gear. You have to put it back into neutral for the engine to start.

I like to shift with the sequential shift option. However, when the car is in Drive and not Sport, pushing the gear lever forward will shift you into neutral. And no, you do not have to pull the trigger.
BAD!

Audio. Not video.

I would love to figure out how to defeat that and watch things on there. Sometimes long drives are fun, but sometimes my wife would like to watch something. Moving the phone mount works fine, but it would be fun to have that as an option. Correct, most people are stupid and it would be dangerous.

I discovered that the ZF 8 speed auto will start off in 2nd gear by default.

What I mean is if you come to a halt and allow the transmission to downshift, whether in D or S, when stationery it will be in 2nd and will start in that gear.
To start in 1st you have to drop into first when stopped by the paddle shift if in D or pushing forward on the stick if in S.

Can't remember if Dynamic mode changes this behaviour.

Just about all auto transmissions act this way.

I haven't had extensive experience with auto transmission so willing to accept your experiences of them.
My two recent cars with auto transmission before the F Type R were with the GR6 dual clutch auto in GT-R which always started in first gear and GM4L80E in XJS 6.0 which would start in second unless in sport when it would start in first gear.

Don't worry. Someone named "Uncle Fishbits" can be believed when he says he's not stalking.

P.S. I think it's specifically illegal in the United States to have video that can be seen by the driver play while the car is in motion.
