the new guy and looking at buying into the Jag family
Yup, I just saw how the car I'm looking at is now overpriced according to CarGurus. Also, the dealership is screwing up big time with me and can't seem to give me a straight answer or the time of day. Ugh!!!!!!
Interest rate fun facts: First off, the "Interest rate" most people refer is actually the Fed overnight borrowing rate used by banks to meet their reserve requirement - Second, When the Fed raises the overnight rate, banks raise their rates; however, when the Fed lowers the overnight rate, banks may lower rates but almost never is it proportionate to the Fed's movement. Even if the Fed lowers the overnight rate to 0.00% banks are still going to charge interest on loans - lending money to consumers, businesses, and other banks is how banks make money.

I have no choice but to buy from an out of state dealership. I don't think it's a hold-up on my part. I'm willing to buy one without a test drive. I'm working on a couple of leads at the moment. Sadly, the east coast dealership is proving to be the epitome of douchiness. I inquired about the car, and it seems I am texting with a 19 year old that doesn't understand customer service, grammar, or the art of negotiations. So I'm also looking at the west coast.
We brought this beauty home to MN last month.
I had an unusual thing happen when I was looking to buy and had pretty much sealed the deal with an out-of-state dealer, so the salesperson hooked me up with the Jaguar finance people to get everything in order before I signed the papers. The first thing the Jag rep asked me was why I was buying out of state. After a little back and forth and a bit of pushy rudeness on the reps part I told him it was none of his damn business why I was buying out of state and that I'd find my financing elsewhere.
Ouch. Is that through the dealer, or did you get quotes from an independent carrier?
That's through the dealer. I saw the email from the carrier to my sales manager, so they're not making any money on me. The car is so close to being mine, I can almost feel the supple leather seats under me!
I know it is tempting to buy a car right now, but if you have $50-100K sitting in cash right now, you can easily turn it into Lambo money by catching market upswing.
Prices on luxury cars will keep going down for the next 6+ months. Dentists, small business owners and so on will be hurting big time, they all will be trying to sell assets to shore up business. You want air-cooled 911? It can be yours for 20K in June.

I know what I'm doing as far as buying this car. I feel like I'm comfortable with the purchase price and am prepared. I don't want a Lambo, and I don't play the stock market.
I just sold my 911 anyway.

Our great news for the evening is that the MD governor has locked down the state for real. $5000 fine if you’re caught out and about after 8pm tonite until further notice.

Have you been talking to my girlfriends? Hehe, let's just say the car feels great!
that sucks. We're not locked down, so it was nice to get out and drive it around the neighborhood.

So I have a few issues to deal with. I'm going to need to bite my tongue for a while until we sort some things out. I'm excited and happy yet sad and a little let down.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this car. I'm sure I will get much happier as the car grows on me and I get to appreciate all the intricacies over the next few days and weeks. I know I'll be spending a majority of the day looking over the details of the car.
You can contact me via PM if you really want to know the details.

This was a hard pill to swallow. In my motorcycle racing days, I was sponsored by Pirelli and the SC2 was a tire I could trust when pushing to the limit. Couple that with the fact that I don't like spending money replacing tires with lots of tread and I resisted for about 7,000 miles. I can not stress how much the car improved by ditching the P-Zeros.
+1 - agreed - MPS4s is your primary concern; that includes pandemics. - sorry couldn't resist........ cabin fever is leaving me snarkier (is that a word?) than usual. Kidding aside, the P-Zeros are like Flinstone Tires......Hard and slick.

Damn guys....not even a kiss on the cheek to see if I'm okay after fainting from being so giddy. I see how it is.
Not to worry. I'll be fine. New tires are on the list. I actually need to get the windows tinted and maybe find a pro to detail the heck out of this car and buff out some scratches and scuff marks.
