Well if you can't find one to drive, hop a flight to Virginia Beach, when the weather breaks, and we can drive all weekend.

Found an Ultra Blue that I really like and keep going back to look at the listing. It's near Philadelphia. I'll drive down to VA Beach and meet you.

Philly to Va Beach is a nice drive. Just let me know. Platinum Motor cars in Virginia usually have nice F-types. I almost purchased from them but found my IRR at Chantilly Jaguar in Va

Here is my "keeper". Had it since 2015 (it's a rwd 15 R) and have no plans what so ever to replace it with anything else.

I just mine about a month ago. My wife has had her F Pace for 2 years and she had an XJ before that. I know you're not into verts, but here's a picture for you anyway. I went with the '14 V8S as it only had 20K miles and price was right. We just bought a house, so new in the trim I wanted wasn't in the budget. As eeeek stated, it's the best bad decision I've made in a long time. I've had many cars from many countries over the years and there are few that you feel in your soul. This is one of them. The sound of that exhaust. You feel it as much as you hear it. Hopefully you've had a chance to hear it in person. I also have a Ducati Diavel with full Termi exhaust, so this ensured the neighbors know it's me in the car or on the bike. By the way, I lived in MPLS in the mid-90's.

I'm in a similar boat, soon to be moving on from my 2007 Carrera. Will be watching this thread closely to see the responses.

I played around on the Jag site and "built" one. I love all the options. At least I know what colors I like and the wheels are important. My youngest son is a bigger car nut than I am, so it was fun having him help me build it.
While you're on the Jaguar USA website, they have an excellent "search inventory" function. You can filter it on almost anything, and focus on CPO cars if you want.

Based on actual ownersip/long term loan car experience.
2015 ~ 2017 series 1 is the 'best' for several reasons, as is either the V8S or R.
  1. RWD
  2. Build quality of cars appeared to tail off
  3. Find a V8 variant with electric power steering and without exhaust vacuum pumps for best power to weight 'out of the box'
  4. Best looking front end, round lights and sharks gill Air intakes
  5. I could bore you with more, but you get the point.
I'm not that biased actually, but having had the V6S, V8S, tried AWD SVR with a view to buying and I find the V8R the 'purest' of them all in standard form.

I'd also love to hear more about the SVR 'having a lighter front end' as it's exactly the same front end as every other AWD and that is heavier of course then the RWD models.
There may be steering calibration ie rate increases and revised upper and lower knuckle that will affect handling, but NO weight reduction whatsoever.

When I was considering R or SVR one thing that was putting me off the R was that I was more likely to end up with the AWD which I really didnt like driving as much given the weight that you feel at the front. So looking at multiple reviews of the SVR (which I have never driven), in at least a couple of them comment was made that it feels more direct and light at the front. I thought I read it was different materials, maybe not.

I cant find the specific review (which might have been video) but here is one https://www.motortrend.com/cars/jagu...hter-pointier/

Beautiful color and car! I can appreciate a fine car and the owner's love of it. Thank you for your thoughts. You're not helping me talk myself out of buying one, so that's a plus.

Isn't that the car that was in at least two accidents with damage that you documented in these threads?

You forgot to mention them in your classified ad:

Probably just a minor oversight. Just thought you would like your fellow forum members to know.

Weather here is getting nicer which means the itch for the R coupe is getting harder to ignore. If only I could find one to test drive.

Not that it's a big deal to me, but I was wondering about the topic of the depreciation of these cars. I want to be able to know everything about the R Coupe from your personal experiences so the dealer doesn't try to lie to me thinking I know nothing. I don't care as much about depreciation when I have the car, but I want to be able to negotiate with the dealer before the purchase. Thoughts?

Depreciation on any Jag, particularly the F type, is more substantial than the typical car. Financially, an F type purchase is truly best suited for long-term ownership.

Don't over-think it. Find the car you like. Compare with prices on similar cars across the country. Set your price and see if the dealer will take your offer.

Hello...I just listed my 2017 F-Type SVR for sale on this site. Incredible car but time for me to move on. And yes, there is a difference between the R and SVR besides the power gain.
I've driven both. I sent you a PM, if interested just give me a call.

Love that look, but black on black is my arch nemesis. They are so hard to keep looking clean!

Mahjik, I agree that all I need to do is find one that calls my name and like a moth I will fly towards the flame.

I'm eyeing a few around the country and keeping my eye on them.

Don't be afraid to pick up one remote. Any stand-up dealership will offer a 2-4 week no questions asked return policy and shipping is not that expensive (depending on the dealership and the deal, they will sometimes offer free shipping). Don't hesitate to inquire about those remote options.

I agree with this. I bought from Charlotte, NC while I was overseas and had it shipped to Jacksonville, FL. Cost $300 to ship in an enclosed trailer delivered to my driveway, but couldn't have flown in and drive home for that.
