New -- Thinking about 2016 F-Type R
Foosh nailed it. Because the DIs inject straight into the combustion chamber they are exposed to temperatures over 1000 degrees and pressures several thousand psi higher than port injectors.

As a result they will suffer from substantial carbon deposit, more slowly with the additives in premium fuel, but still far more quickly than the port injectors. As mentioned earlier by RawwR, deposits will build up more quickly on the valves as well. As a result fuel system cleaning will need to occur more often. However, I don't see a fuel system flush called out in the F-Type maintenance intervals.

I think the supercharger and intercooler on our engines will have to be removed to access the intake valves. Walnut blasting is the preferred method of cleaning. Google the images, pretty nasty stuff. Something I didn't have to worry about on my previous E92 M3.
Thanks for all of the help. At this point, I just have to wait for the 2016 pricing to be announced so I can start discussions with my dealer about ordering one. I thought I read pricing would be released towards the end of February, is that still the expected time frame?
Yes, they are all direct injected. Even the base V6 produces more HP/liter than the V8R 5.0.
