On yesterday's drive I had my palm resting on the shift knob and my fingers fell nicely into place around the dial...feels very natural to me.

Leased unit that went back in late October to the local dealer who I'm guessing sold it since it's gone from their inventory...

No...everyone thinks that based on looks but it's not distracting in the least.
Plus, it can be configured a number of ways...

Keep us informed of your longer term feelings on the car. That model was one of the last few to get eliminated when I got the F-Type, so I'm curious. If I'd needed back seats it might have been the finalist.
