Default New York Implementing Aggressive Program To Ticket Loud Cars

New York is one of those cities other cities copy so be aware New York is implementing a program that monitors sound and automatically tickets loud cars. Especially for those of us with after market exhausts and early F-Types you may want to either avoid or take it really easy in New York shortly. I used to travel to New York a lot and have to admit a certain animosity towards people who like to crank up their cars late at night and wake me from a sound sleep. Anyway heads up: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...0Non%20Openers

New York City It's now just like the fictional movie starring Kurt Russell named,, Escape from New York. It's very sad the five boroughs of New York City are now a hellhole. What makes the situation even more crazy is the fact that the politicians refuse to change any of their insane policies which hurt so many people resulting in so many victims either being murdered, mugged and robbed, rape and assaulted.
Today's New York City is exactly the same as New York City circa 1970s.
Lastly.... There are daily carjackings taking place in broad daylight.

The last thing I would do is drive my beautiful F-Type into downtown NYC.
Apart from the risk on the crappy streets, think about the crappy expensive parking garages.
We used to visit regularly, but now the crime and the overall wokeness make it a thing of the past.

Great to see the government priorities are straight. Murders, Muggings, Car-Jackings, Rapes , etc.....But I'll be Damned if some M****F****R is going to drive through here with a car that is louder than normal!! Not up in here!

I think its good. Once all the cars are electric and completely quiet, it will be easier to hear the people screaming.

I've seen more exotics and other special-interest cars in Manhattan than anywhere else.

I don't know why.

But hey, it's OK to have an obnoxious car that wakes people up who are sleeping, meatheads deserve to be punished for being ********.

Personally I don't like any form of automated citations. Red light, speeding, whatever. I just don't think it's right.

I have no objection to cracking down on noise pollution, however. I wish there was enough manpower to do it.

Some cars ARE obnoxiously loud. And motorcycles. I don't like 'em. Especially in residential areas. I'd like to clobber some of the people in my neighborhood who love disturbing the peace with loud exhaust. Less than 2.5 miles away is a big industrial section where they can make all the noise they want and nobody would care. But they insist on making noise in residential areas. It would be very easy to just keep the revs low for a few blocks but they apparently lack the personal discipline to do so. And it's not just youngsters. The boomers on their Harleys are flagrant noise makers. My living room windows rattle as they go by.

Rant over

As an aside I'll mention that loud exhaust vs. local regulation is nothing new. I remember, circa 1992, Oldsmobile customers getting cited for excessive noise on certain models with the 3.4 DOHC engine and 'sport exhaust'. Even back in the 60s Ford had to change exhaust on some '65 Mustangs because too many customers were being cited.

Cheers
DD
