Default Non-lithium lightweight battery option?

Hi,

I tried the 60a Anti-Gravity battery and it and my car did not mesh well...it was if my car could not charge that battery. Have had success in P-cars with AG batteries....

But before I went lithium I used to use smaller AGM units. Does anyone have experience with trying the 21lb Deka/Braille unit? It has enough CCA/cranking amps but lacks the total reserve of our 70 lbs monsters.....
In DEKA form they are about 150 dollars too....so tempting. Anyway, wondering if anyone tried this out as I had used this in a 996 gt2 with great success....but in a car with probably 90% less networking in it.

Curiious on any and all experiences with non-litihium weight savings options on the battery....70 to 20 lbs seems like a good thing. I use the car every day or every other day and have shut off "auto stop/start" ....so perhaps I don't need as much battery....

TIA

jcb

The car seems very sensitive to battery voltage. I personally would not mess with the OEM system unless you are trying to shave weight at the track, and restore to OEM when done.

I've run this in my XE for a couple years with zero problems. https://braillebattery.com/products/i34x

I had the exact same issue with an Antigravity battery and a quick BMS reset using my iCarsoft LR V2.0 code reader fixed it. I'm sure there are plenty of other code readers that can do this too. Zero issues for two years now after the BMS reset.

Thanks.

Wish the dealer would have been a little more helpful.....blamed the AG battery so I sold it at a moderate loss....ug.

I really like the Odyssey batteries. They are quite robust, and do last. We use them in aircraft with fantastic results. Great cranking power! A 23 pound Odyssey battery replaces an 80 pound conventional battery, no problem.
