Default Not that kind of bra....

I use an old-school type (although it's new) padded vinyl front bra cover on my BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe for when I do long highway road-trips. It's worked really well and the front of my car still looks new with almost no chips on the bumper or leading edge of the hood. When I get where I am going I simply toss it in the trunk/boot and forget about it. Does anyone know where I could get a front end bra for the F-Type? I've looked and looked and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Please don’t do that to your F-type. That will cause all sorts of micro (and not so micro) scratches. Just put some ppf where you want some chip protection.

+1

Cannot recommend xpel highly enough. Get the whole front done and never worry about it again

I've heard this before and have seen none of that on my BMW.

Particularly on wet days, road grit will get under the nose bra. Damn near stripped the clear coat off my C4 Vette.

Very helpful. Thanks. I guess I've not had this on my BMW because I drive it 1200 miles straight through (17 hours), arrive and then immediately take it off.

If your goal is to protect the car, you are better off doing nothing. These look horrible, trap dirt and damage your clear coat.

Something like this is in your near future:

I had 3M film fail (crack and turn yellow) after only 3 years in the desert sun. Now, this is a clear case of extreme weather conditions, but it can happen anywhere with time. It took a lot of hours to get it off as it came off in small chunks.

I was told that xpel is much better and this is what I have on my F-type. It is still looks like new 4 years later, but I no longer live in the desert, so it is not apples to apples comparison.

In my area it's a constant battle with the dirt haulers and gravel trucks dragging their uncovered loads on the interstate. The Xpel Ultimate has quite a few punctures in only a year and a half that have gone through to chip the paint (more than I was expecting).

Whilst it may be permissible on a Beemer and will double its value, it's not the done thing on a good looking car like the Jag....Bit like getting Hale Berry to wear a padded mask ;-)

Or...a fashion model wearing a bra on the outside of her blouse.

If I somehow got stuck with the new 4-Series I'd get a padded vinyl bra right away. Or maybe just crash it into a wall to improve the front-end styling...
