Thanks... that is my impression too... the difference is even more dramatic in person than in the pics... the pics don't really show how dark the OEM color is. The wheel restoration place had about 100 different shades of silver paint chips, it was hard to choose. I ended up choosing one of the brighter ones with some very fine metallic in it. My sons don't much care for it, they're all into the "black look" but I grew up loving shiny stuff, so that's my jam.

Thanks for your comment!

You have to please yourself first, if others like it, that's their bonus. If they don't like it, they're welcome to pay their own money to have something else!

I found a local wheel repair company, and had the OEM Blade wheels repainted in a metallic silver color. I'm attaching some pics of before and after. I realize the change may not be to everyone's taste, but it pleases me. Sorry about the garage pics, but weather didn't permit any outdoor shots right now. I left the barrel and polished rim untouched, just painted the spokes and outer portions. The OEM color hides a lot of brake dust, but I think the brighter color sets off the red much better. I'll just have to wash more often!

i know we’re not suppose to share opinions on this thread but not my cup of tea on the wheel color. Makes a classy and expensive wheel look cheap and standard “alloy” color from the pictures. Maybe it looks better in person. Personally doesn’t look good

Smile Hi Ho Silver, and away!

A couple of outdoor shots (in our Fall shadowed light) of my '17 S Coupe, replete with the cheap and standard looking alloy painted wheels... Lol.

Snapped these before taking a nice drive yesterday on a loop up Spooner to Lake Tahoe, through South Lake to Myers, over Luther Pass to Hope Valley, down 88 through Minden-Gardnerville and back home to Carson City. Car is wonderful to drive, scenery quite lovely, and now she's dirty from the snow slop over the passes.

Once again a photo like the one above reinforces my opinion that the F type with some chrome trim and bright wheels far surpasses the aesthetic impact of an F type with the blacked out trim and black wheels.

But of course aesthetics are in the eye of the beholder, and we all have different eyes ...

I'd say that I like both looks equally well for very different reasons. Think sexy English professor vs hot stripper. Both have their place in my world.

At the very least, it would help to have pictures. Not so much, the professor.

Sexy professors are hot (assuming appropriate gender for the viewer)!

Depends on what you're into I suppose... A little background: I was a bartender at a famous strip club in Minneapolis 25 years ago and we had a couple teachers that worked there.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to assume anything or be misogynistic.

HC010 were one of my choices when I bought new wheels. Great looking wheel. Looks great with the blue. Did you upsize widths? How long have you had the rotors?

Took a trip to the mountains and this parking spot was not far off the paved road where the trail started. The twisties on the way up really showed off the car. I love this thing.

Thanks for the compliment!! I installed the wheels, rotors and pads at the same time, as of now less than a week.

Although I had the wheels ceramic coated, I didn't want them to be covered in the the OEM brake dust after a 5 minute drive.

Specs for wheels and tires
HC010 Brushed Clear/Polished lip w/ Brushed Inner and Titanium Hardware.
Front - 20x9.5 offset +46
Rear - 20x11 offset + 32

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
Front -255/35/20
Rear - 295/30/20

Setup purchased from Max over at PK Auto Design

How do you like the Dark Sapphire? I just bought a 17 R in that color and haven't seen it in person yet.

Absolutely love it!! The color shifts based on light and angles, especially after I had the stage 2 paint correction and ceramic coating completed. It has a lot of flakes but in my opinion it sets it apart from other blue vehicles on the road. Pictures don't do the color justice.. you will see, especially if you're a fan of blue.

Excellent!! Looking forward to it, thanks. I will likely have paint correction and ceramic coating put on mine as well
