@Grumpy : love the look and the blue with orbits. If I could afford two, I'd get the sapphire with brogue interior.

Flew to Vegas last Friday to buy it and proceeded to drive 1600+ miles back to Minnesota through the unbelievably gorgeous Utah canyonlands and Rocky Mountains. Really couldn't have asked for a better new owner experience.

Traffic slowed down. So did I. Car behind me, not so much. It was pretty hard, and a double hit. We both walked away, but I was a bit dazed, and the instant headache is hanging in there. I'm going back to my ice pack.

ooo damn. Well you should go to your primary doctor tomorrow to rule out any concussion. Glad to hear everyone walked away with no injuries. Sucks for the car though. I'm sorry and it looks like it was pretty hard because the damage looks pretty good. Once obtain police report contact their insurance company. I found out when I went through their insurance company my insurance stayed the same, but when I went through mine even though not my fault, my insurance went up.

Ouch!! So sorry for you. Looks like it might have penetrated the fuel tank.

Does the coupe have the wiper fluid tank in back, like the vert does? Hopefully, that's what the fluid was.

Yes, it's washer fluid. First thing I checked when I saw the puddle. Just because I have a fire extinguisher, that doesn't mean I want to sit in a car leaking fuel.

There are only two body shops in the area certified by JLR for working on aluminum-bodied cars. I'll call the closer one once they open.

Duh. I hadn't thought of sun protection.... as in the steering wheel is too hot to touch. LOL Nice. I just looked it up, and UV and glare protection too. Very nice. I never even thought to ask.... I just thought it a remnant from my days needing privacy in the back of a limo. (sort of joke LOL)

Well dammit I feel partly responsible as we never got our helmets. =/

I am very, very glad you are okay. Very sorry!

The forced march at work is coming to a (probably temporary) close and I was going to drop you a note to see if you'd gone up there yet. I was considering a NASA HPDE weekend this month or next

While my SA2005 helmet is still acceptable for HPDE, it is only OK for LeMons due to the grace period. They go ten years on the spec, but wait until the latest is readily available to the average schmoe.

It's unlikely I'll get out there before fall though. The body shop certified by JLR for aluminum cars says they'd need to take the car apart for a proper estimate, and even if repairable, they'd have the car for *months*.

I get the looks nonstop in my white coupe; you guys with the firesand must cause accidents. I think the car is stunning in the color with black wheels.

Thank you so much. This is the first real sports car I've ever owned and man I'm completely enthralled. It really does turn heads and start conversations everywhere it goes.
