Default Added a Second F-Type - Love these cars!

In February I traded in my 2015 Nissan GTR with 600rwhp for a Certified 2016 Jaguar F-type S Convertible with 26K, the sound had me hooked.
I had driven a couple of Rs and liked the V8 also.

I am not a street racer any more, but I love the sound of a high performance car and nothing sounds like these F Types, so I was not concerned with 550hp or AWD,

I found a 2014 F-type V8S convertible with 20K for $46500 at the same Maserati dealer I bought my GTR at. I added a CNA bumper to bumper warranty to cover the car after the Manufacturer Warranty is up in 8 months.
The previous owner traded the car for a 1 year old Lamborghini Huracan.

My father who lives 8 houses down is turning 80 in July. He just traded in his 2015 Mustang 5.0 with a manual tranny and he was missing having a performance car.
Now he can drive one of mine any time he wants, he prefers the sound of a V8.

He drove it the other day and was smiling from ear to ear.

Here are some pics of both, the license plate fell off on the way home, salesman used screws that were too short, luckily my wife was following me in the other F Type and alerted me.

2 F-types for less than the price of 1, I am a happy guy.

@yell03.

Hmmm.. ..you shure know how to 'rub-it-in' ... .... some parts of the world just a V6 is to costly.. ... and you have a V6 ánd V8...

So you probably don't have children ; then you would need to take both cars on a family trip... And ; it never snows there , TWO cabrio's ???

I'm not from the USA so 'pa' doesn't mean anything to me..

Pennsylvania, snows all the time, but we have a AWD Jaguar F Pace SUV and the V6 F type is AWD, just needs winter tires .
Plus my father has a 4wd SUV.

Kids are out of school.

@yell03.

OK. So transport is arranged.. .. I've been thinking about replacing the old Discovery by an F-Pace...

But I see too many demo's remain unsold for a long time. Kinda 'tell-tale' about depreciation to come...

Now I doubt about a RRS P400e.... ..its very costly new, but then you earn some back on low taxes over here..

We live just outside the village. So the MiTo is used by the kids 24/21/ (17 driving lessons..) when they are around. And for shopping.
The D3 is for family trips and haulage.. ..and winter conditions. But we hardly get substantial amounts of snow.

F-Type is my GT , and my son ones he gets his license in autumn..

I am not too worried about depreciation on the F Pace, it was nicely optioned, but still bought new for $49K.
I had it out in deep snow and it performed very well even on stock all-season tires.

My daughter is 26 and a Labor and Delivery Nurse, she has an Audi Q3.
She actually took the F Type S out yesterday for a nice outing with her boyfriend.

My son is 23 and has a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Hard Rock Edition.
He is going to LOVE the V8S.

@yello3.
Quite a nice set of cars, runs in the family I guess ! We have the problem of crazy roadtaxation. My 12yrs old D3 costs now about € 3000 pa to be allowed to drive it on public roads.
At present rates thats around USD 4000,- ... And in 2019 this goes up with 15% as it doesn't have a DPF... ..and retro fitting is not accepted..

So I think I'll put it on foreign plates and pay € 0 ,- per anum.. Have to figure out which country is easiest.

Great story! My dealer used cheap screws to hold the license plate, one of which quickly fell out and the other rusted. Bought a pack of black stainless steel screws, which look and work great.

@DJS.

I don't screw the plates, but use blind rivets... ... they steal plates here for their own car and drive around for you to pay their speeding fines..

We are very fortunate here in the US, it is relatively inexpensive to own a car.

If I would have lost the plate it would have been a mess.

Awesome cars and coffee pics and wish I could have made it. Pardon my ignorance but I thought UNHINGD had a V6s and I noticed he doesnt have V6s exhaust. I assume you upgraded your exhaust, did you notice and performance increase with the new exhaust or any change in sound? Did it set you back an arm and a leg and require mods to fit?

As soon as I post this message, I will be searching for a thread that talks about this.

The swap was done for sound reasons (yes , double entendre intended). Beside the cost of the VAP Valvetronic exhaust, it required the V8 rear valance pieces. Those would have been prohibitively expensive if I hadn't found used ones from someone swapping to a CF rear valance. I got those about a year ago waiting for an opportunity to find a deal on the V8 exhaust: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...5/#post1885946

Unhingd's F sounds like a monster. I can confirm Loud is an understatement. Never heard any v6 like that one.

What have you been told as a "running-in" procedure for your engine ? My dealere sais : below 3500rpm, peaking briefly to 4500rpm, first 3000km...
I also have to check the oil level every 500km...
Got similar advice. Nothing re oil checks though.
