After watching that if I lived in a hot climate or tracked the car I might re-think Castrol Edge SAE E 0W-20.

Assuming when the factory recommends a specific oil it is for 'average' conditions.

Yep, that's why I'm putting 5W-20 not 0W-20 in at the next oil change due in a month's time. Just a mere 43C (109F) here yesterday - Christmas day - and January in Adelaide is usually consistently hotter than December.

Please...let's not launch into this discussion for the umpteenth time. Please feel free to change your oil (and more importantly, your filter) as often as it makes you comfortable, as long as you meet the manufacturer's recommended minimum interval.

Just had my first 12 month service @ 8k km

fyi here in Australia dealer used 5w40 Castrol edge pro

service is free for 3 years, so I'll use dealer for book/yearly intervals and might do my own 6 monthly since the 5w40 is off the shelf and I need an excuse to use my quickjack setup

Why would you change your oil more frequently than 8k KM?

+1. Based on the last analysis of my oil with 6.5k miles on it, there is a lot of life left in the oil at that mileage. In another few weeks, I will have Blackstone run another test when the next oil is changed at 8k (3rd oil change at 18k, 1st was right after break-in).
