Opening/Closing Windows Using Key Fob
Hi,
I have a US Spec 2016 F-Type "S" Coupe. If I hold down the unlock button on the Key Fob, the windows will go down. According to the "Getting Started" guide, holding down the lock button on the Key Fob should close the windows, but this doesn't work on my car.
Anyone had any experience/information concerning this feature/function ?
Thanks.

Same here on my '14 base convertible. Had never tried it before, and I can also lower the windows w/ the fob, but not raise them.

Does it have to be dealer activated?
That was the case with the S Type, opening was always available but closing had to be activated IIRC only on US models.
The function was only possible on post 2003 models after the safety clutch was introduced.

I just checked the vehicle settings on my car and the only option I have is Global Open. Global Close is MIA.
I have to take the car back to the dealer on Tuesday (waiting for parts), and I will ask them if they are able to enable the Global Close option.

It is my understanding that Global Close is a feature that is deactivated on all North America delivery JLR vehicles.
Thank the Lawyers
Though it speaks to both Global Open and Global Close in manual, Global Close is absent from the Info Menu, it would normally appear adjacent to the Global Open setting in the menu tree.

For that, you need to get a Smart Top. It can also be configured to enable remote window open/close and even chose what you want the windows to do when you raise & lower the top.
He committed to asking the techs if they could enable it. Hopefully we'll have an answer soon, I'm expecting to get the car back today or tomorrow.

Update - Dropped my car off at the dealership this morning and asked about the Global Close option. My SA was not aware that the UK cars had this option, and mentioned that neither Jag nor Land Rover has the Global Close option enabled here in the U.S.

They offered the example of a child in the car getting their hand crushed by the window activated from outside the vehicle. I remarked that as far as I was aware all new cars had pressure sensing windows that would cease operation if an obstacle obstructs the window closing. I was told that the pressure sensor only works when using the window switch in the door, which I don't think is true. Even so, I would imagine that the pressure sensing feature could be enabled for operation outside the vehicle thereby absolving Jaguar of any liability.
Regardless, we have our answer, and the dealerships will not activate the feature for U.S. cars unfortunately.
