Owners of Pre Owned Jaguars
I wanted Jaguar to know that I'm the new owner. For those don't already know, there is a card that you fill out in their booklet "Passport to Service," if you received all the manuals. The card is titled "Vehicle Registration/Owner Information Change card. It asks for your name, VIN, engine #, address, date of purchase, sellers name and address, original seller's name and address.
I didn't feel like detaching the card so I went to their website, Jaguar.com and gave them the information on the "Contact Us" tab. They emailed me back and asked me for a copy of my registration.
Of course, you can detach the card, fill it out, and send it snail mail.
I did this in the event they wanted to send information about the car to the owner.
Just sharing some info.

The postcard asks for the Engine Number and says it is at the upper front engine block adjacent to the left-hand lifting eye.
OK. Is this under the engine cover? I don't see it. Google searches show locations on older Jaguars.

Not sure. I asked my dealer for the dealer invoice. It's there.
The reason I asked for the invoice is bc I wanted to know what the options were on the car. The engine number just happened to come in handy for this too.
If if you know what dealership your car originated, the sales manager would be in a position to email a PDF to you. My car originated from a dealership in Pasadena. He was really nice and was glad to know where his cars are going.
Otherwise se try your local dealership.

I believe there is also a link for "change of owner" where you can provide a scan/copy of the bill of sale to prove the change of owner. I didn't need to provide previous owner information. All it needed was the VIN number.
Oh. I bought mine from an independent dealer and it was a consignment. That's why I was concerned.
I don't have access to the original dealer invoice since I bought it used.
Have the window sticker, etc, but none of the paperwork shows an engine number.
I'll go ahead and mail in the card w/o the engine number, but I'll include a copy of the title/reg to prove I am the true owner.

I bought mine used from a local Jaguar Dealer and never sent anything to Jaguar.
Recently I had occasion to contact Jaguar and they asked for my VIN.
From the VIN they knew everything about me including my cell phone number.
I can only assume the local dealer registered me with Jaguar.
