Default Oxygen Sensor replacemnt

I have been told my 2016 F Type S, has a "fault" @ P0142-00 Oxygen Sensor circuit bank 1...I am about to book an appointment with my JLR dealer for replacement and have a question..hopefully not a really stupid one! ...anyways... do I need to worry about any "software" upgrades?...do they do this for this type of work?-or do they do it as a courtesy?...any help would be appreciated. Cheers

I had one of my sensors replaced last year and made sure to tell them and put in the system to not do any software upgrades. In my case thankfully, they did not.

Also, I thought I had read somewhere that JLR extended the warranty on the O2 sensors due to faulty ones? Maybe I'm imagining that.

I believe it is 10 years on the O2 sensors.

I just replaced one of my O2 sensors on my 2016 R. It was covered under the emissions warranty in North America.

Just had an O2 sensor replaced under warranty on mine as well. The warranty bulletin that covered mine included 10 years on V8s and 15 years on V6s but only on 2014-2017 models. Another bulletin might cover other model years.

Last week I took my 2016 R to check engine light, JLR dealer said the catalytic converter needs to be replaced, and the catalytic converter is still under warranty.

It seems like it only covers some years. So it covered an O2 sensor on my 2017 F Type SVR but not on the 2018 V6 Discovery.

Strange given it's many of the same engines in the 2018s...
