Default P-Zero Sottozero lower temp limits?

Yesterday's commute to and from work took place in the -10 to -18F range and it felt like the tires had given up their ghosts. I've been really impressed with these Sottozeros, but yesterday they felt like summers. I wonder if the ambient temperatures were just too low for this rubber compound. Anyone experience something similar?

I'm working from home today as I don't want to drive home in -28F weather. I'm thankful that she has the incontrol remote start app, but wish it had the option to turn on the heated seats and steering wheel.

Those temperatures are brutal on everything, not just tires. It was a relatively balmy -3F here this morning.

I ran an older version of the Sottozeros on my old E46 M3 many years ago. In my area, we don't see subzero temperatures often but I found the tires to be worse than their competitors (Blizzaks, Dunlop Winter Sport M3) below 10F. The version I tried, to be honest, I found them worse than the other two I mentioned all around for winter.

You guys should use Centigrade - winter temps are much higher!

Other factors also play into this. Salt stops working at very low temperatures, unless these temperatures happen regularly, they won't have specialized deicer for roads.

I use Michelin X-Ice tires and have not noticed any issues with rubber hardening.

Not quite as cold, but my Sottozero 3 felt perfectly normal around 0F which is about as cold as it ever gets around here. In fact they feel much better than the OEM P-Zero summers do at, say, 50F.
