P450 vs P575 - advice
Or they have the pre-facelift so aren't in a position to comment? I don't know how much the newer models differ from the earlier ones.
I drove an S prior to buying my car. I had it all in my head that I was going to buy the S. I liked the look of the center exhaust, which reminded me of the E-Type. Then I drove and R. Game over, right there. I ended up with the SVR after doing a lot more research. I will admit, though, I gave a long look at a 6MT S in Sapphire. Had it not sold while I was thinking about it, I might have gone that route. I fully recognize that the ZF transmission is better than me, but that good old manual speaks to me in a similar way that the V8 does, tapping into my inner 16 year old.
Is it worth the price difference for a P575 vs a P450?
I chose the latter as it seemed a better value and much prefer RWD.
For those not on a budget, there is also the limited-edition ZP edition at $134k.
Well, I like the Portifino Blue but that's not available in a Coupe. My second choice is the SVO grey except for the white polka dot on the door.
Yeah, oh my god, I find that Dot on the door edition silly. Now that it a cash grab for sure. Blue seats and an unwanted dot on the door, and then call it special and add a massive premium. Not a chance. Not for me anyway.
I see these comments about the V6 being way better in handling than the v8. This makes little to no sense to me given that they are the same engine less 2 cylinders. Same block. The difference in weight is not a lot.
All I can tell you is that this new gen R with the SVR suspension setup and revised knuckles, along with the sport suspension mode enabled, is on rails. It handles VERY well. The only issue is when in that sport mode it does ride rougher with the stock tires. Some say it’s the stock tires, and that upgrading to the Michelin tires makes it much better. I look forward to changing the tires and getting that benefit,
Perhaps people are making these statements about the v6 vs the prev gen f-type v8 that does not have as good of a setup. It’s honestly hard to imagine it being better than what I experience with my 2024 R. When not in sport suspension mode there is body roll and more comfort, but in sport it is amazing.

I have heard that the SVR had a much lighter feeling front end than the AWD R, and this passed through to the facelift. I havent driven the SVR or facelift so I dont know, someone on here explained it to me a while back when this was being thrashed out.
But there is a massive amount of anecdotal evidence that the v6 handling is sharper than the (previous) R, I am not sure how the R drives on the street as I have only driven them on the track and they definitely have a much heavier feeling front end, and the consensus of the Jag professional drivers at the 3 Jag track days I attended pre covid was that the v6 handing is far better and they thought the v6S was the pick (I actually thought the 400 was the pick personally but I'm not a professional driver's butt hole) but handling didnt count for much when the R's steamed past me on the straights, you really see the difference over 120kph where the base and v6S is left pretty much in their dust.
And of course some people think the RWD 6 is overly light at the front, but it suits me as I have very delicate wrists.

It is the exact same block according everything I have read,,,To the point where people criticize Jaguar for that fact, call them lazy…Everything I’ve read, and the videos I’ve seen says this is the case. Perhaps the info was wrong, but many different sources said the same thing.
Sorry, it’s most certainly wrong as a number of folks here will tell you. I’ve seen pictures of the two blocks, there’s structural webbing where the missing cylinders are.
The V8 isn’t a Ford Coyote either.

Not sure how that makes it not the same block, but alright. The same block with 2 cylinders missing an slight modification? Are we splitting hairs here?
True though on the Coyote engine comments…lol…That is mentioned a lot too, and yeah, that’s not true for sure ;-0

I’m either in the minority, or R owners just don’t care to respond.
I think it could be worth it to get the R depending on your goals. This car has the suspension of the SVR plus plus due to the rear knuckle changes or whatever…That’s gotta count for something over the non-R in the minds of some.
I am VERY passionate about the F-Type and wanted the highest trim variant available for the last year of production without needing to mess around with tuning etc…That’s just me…I like some of the exterior look differences as well that the R brings in the front and back…I am keeping this car for a long time so averaged out over the years to come the difference isn’t really that large…
Buying a car like this brand new is not exactly a budget purchase to begin with so for me splitting hairs over trim level is not really gonna get ya anywhere in the end anyway…Just my thoughts, but I respect that some may not view the R as worth it depending on their goals etc…I get it…

I selected the R75 in the limited svo grey. It drives great and in the long run having the last year they were built in a limited edition kinda sealed the deal for me.
now you can all hate me for it, but I’m having the doors painted to remove the number circle - but that’s a personal choice. I’m going to drive it and enjoy it. Not track it
I know they thought I was crazy when I asked to have it removed … but it all just takes a little application of money.
