Default Part Number Help

Hi,

I need to replace a leaking coolant pipe (picked up at the annual service today) I've ordered that, but can see the leaking boiling water has it's caused damage to part of the air intake. Anyone know the part number?

Actually, scrap that. I found it on ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/264713056...6&toolid=10001

Looks like the silver metal part is just some sort of thin sleeve. Not sure on the purpose of it.

Maybe the metal sleeve is to stop the plastic distorting or collapsing due to pressure changes?
Or else to protect the plastic from coolant when (not if) one of those pesky little expansion tank tubes splits and sprays coolant all over this part of the engine bay!

Yeah a suspect the latter, you can see what's it's done to mine I guess where mine has a slight leak.

Interestingly, I wonder if an aftermarket intake pipe is available without the little silence section.

Thanks for that. How did you find it?

I did a little research over lunch and found this link where it was proven the car lost almost 30bhp on the dyno vs stock (albeit a Jag XFR V8).

Really good video -
