Default passengers and performance

I'm really surprised at the drop of in acceleration on the V6 S when I have a passenger. I'm talking 125 - 150 pound passenger.

I suppose the flipside of putting lighter wheels and battery on the car would be pretty noticeable too.

I havent noticed it myself, but I have often thought that a lot of the people who spend tens of thousands of dollars extra for the lightweight version of a car are potentially fatties and could probably afford to lose 50lb plus themselves which would be cheaper and healthier.

The lightweight wheels is really noticeable in the V6S, at least in handling.

Were you driving in dynamic or regular mode? While adding any weight to a car has performance impacts, it shouldn't be night/day difference.

Maybe not night and day, but reducing the weight of the car by 140 lbs made it perceptively more spritely.

I’ve noticed the same thing. The first time I really noticed an improvement from the VAP tune was a hard pull from a stoplight, with a passenger.

I wouldn't say night and day difference. More like going from "lively" to "meh".
Very noticeable in either dynamic or normal.

I notice a difference in temperature/humidity and how that affects the charge temps more than I notice passenger weight.

Don't ever say to a lady "Your weight is slowing the car down"!

Yeah, it's the humidity, that's it.

+1. Just when the temperature slides to freezing and the car gains a few hp, the tires are even less able to handle it.

I'm not at all surprised by this, whenever SWMBO is in the passenger seat (and she is around 125 lb) the acceleration of my V6S drops off dramatically!
Nothing to do with weight, purely due to self-preservation of my left ear hole and my general well being.

Don't forget I am RHD so all the excruciating passenger noise that eventuates if I ever dare use WOT come from my left.

I'd say I HEAR YA, except that my hearing isn't that good on my RIGHT ear.

Hmmm LHD....maybe we have stumbled onto a medical breakthrough!

Well everyone has different thresholds - Lewis Hamilton can feel 1 kg of fuel, my mother cannot feel a full trailer
But to be honest, I personaly dont feel "one normal person" or "empty-fuel" tank on a car that is even lighter than F-Type. That being said, I am not saying that this is the case, but sometimes there are other variables - engine timing. Sometimes because of weather or whatever reason, the engine could back off power and than you can have that whole "correlation/causation" problem. What I am saying is, that I cannot feel 1 person, but I can feel weather differencies. During hoter days my (naturaly aspirated) car is slower than in winter for sure.

I wish I could blame the weather but the last time I noticed this was on a nice cool and dry day, which don't happen too often in Houston.

There is nothing worser, as a passenger horrified by your driving.

There is, it's being horrified by your own driving!

I haven't had a chance to notice the weight difference. No one will ride with me.

I took passenger on the track with me in F-type and in the dedicated track Mustang on multiple occasions and never noticed the difference in straight-line acceleration.

However, I do drive differently with a passenger with me, no more than 9/10 on the track, and, depending on a passenger, more or less in line with the speed limits on the street.

You'll notice a much more significant gain in dropping unsprung weight. Shave ten pounds per wheel will be much more noticeable than dropping a 150 pound passenger.
