Question Polishing exhaust pipes

After washing Buckingham, I noticed the once shiny exhaust pipes were somewhat tarnished. Anyone know how to polish them up again inside and out?

I use Turtle Chrome Polish. Its dirt cheap and does the job really well.

About 3-4 weeks after I got the car, I also had the tarnish. I polished it with "Bar Keepers Friend". Easily removed the tarnish and must have left some kind of coating. In the 5 months since, I have only needed to wipe it with a cloth to remove any exhaust residue and return it to full shine.

I tried Liberty Metal polish that I use for my brass bed. Worked like a charm.

Ohhh, thank you for the recommendation! I use that for all my pots and pans, never thought to use it on the tail pipes!

In 8,000 miles/15 months I've only ever needed to use a microfibre cloth dipped in the wash bucket after doing the body work but before doing the wheels.

+1. Nothing but car wash soap required, and they look new.

Best results I have found for enhancing the shine as well as cleaning tarnish;

Meguairs ScratchX, followed by some simple wax polish. Really works well on St/steel.

Also handy if you pick up a small scratch or mark on the paintwork.
