Damn you people are really shorting the value of the R.
Yeah, that would be essentially equivalent to buying a dealer demo at a 28% discount off MSRP for a car built less than a year ago. In fact, I'd rather buy this car than a dealer demo, which is more likely to have been abused by multiple drivers testing it.
It's a crazy good deal if you want an R Coupe, but it does make you wonder about demand for the RWD version.

Part of the problem is he's trying to sell it in Boston at the end of October.
I think if you put it on auto trader in Atlanta you would do better.
This said - I am now regretting buying a Jag. This depreciation is about 30% in one year. That is ridiculous.
By contrast if you look at AMG-GT prices, there are people who have traded their cars back with less miles for $4k below MSRP to the dealer. Should have bought one of those.

Do you plan on offloading the car so soon that it really matters?

AMG-GT is not a good comparison as it is so new and demand exceeds supply.
But yes, FTR depreciation is very steep, not so much on base cars. When I was considering trading for a manual, I was offered an amount within 12% of what I paid new on a car at 7K miles and 16 months from delivery at the time of their offer.

Geez, I wish you were in Oz Holden, I would buy it from you in a heartbeat at that price.
Guess what an equivalent used FTR goes for here?
Yep, $250,000 AU, what a joke, see here: 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE R Auto MY15
So... how would I explain this purchase to the overwhelmingly significant other?:"But. dear, you have to use the right tool for the job. I neeeeed a car (6th vehicle) for the track." Her response: "You are the tool!" **End Of Discussion**
