Do not attempt to remove the inserts from the tornado wheels! Ordered the 8MM 12 point torx and successfully removed the first insert. After that, it turns out out there is some type of adhesive on the bolt that causes some of the inserts to strip out the threads. In fact 2 out of 3 stripped. I thought no problem and bought a 7mm x100 tap and die to clean out the holes and rethread the bolts. Thought I was good until one stubborn insert seized half way out. Could not go back in or further out. Consequently, snapped it off! Drilled it out which is a challenge being the bolts are stainless and the rim alloy. JB welded the snapped bolt back in and all the others and quit.

Thanks for the post, I also have a 17 BRG S and was thinking about a color change to the wheels. But I really can’t tell if yours are matte in finish or glossy? And how did you do a “Plasti dip”? You said you didn’t have to remove the wheels, do you paint it on? And it’s removable? Color choice?

thanks!

I bought the cheapest $37 matte black wheel kit here: https://www.dipyourcar.com/
You can buy the gloss kits for $30 more
& Lots of different colors avail.
Great videos & instructions on there too
Yes, don't need to take off wheels, pretty easy spray process...
