Preventing BMS from repetitive battery draining
That's two-stage unlocking, selectable in the vehicle settings. So if you're on your own and unlock the car a sneaky person can't hop in the passenger side.
Sorry Matt but it is correct. My F-Type is a convertible and one of the things which I checked soon after I got it was the double locking (which is described in the handbook). With the top down I exited the car, double locked the doors and then attempted to open them from the inside. They were locked. I have previously done a similar test with my XF, as you described, and they do double lock.
Sorry to drift further off-topic…
I assumed that double-locking isn’t allowed in the US, as a safety feature, so that it isn’t possible to lock someone inside the car without them being able to escape. It looks to me like it’s allowed as long as there’s an ability to unlock from inside the car. I wonder on US cars which allow double-locking, if the electric unlock button stays active?
The NHTSA rules aren’t very clear, but this is a bit more clear. Yeah, I’m bored and it’s raining outside.

I believe BMW got around the requirement for many years because they had their electronic lock/unlock switch active even during double-lock. The switch was located in the center of the console up on the dash (BMW engineer logic was it made it harder for someone to reach through a partially open window with an arm or a device to press the unlock button, which is usually found on most door cards). I'm not sure if they still do this or not.
If the Jaguar buttons are still active, then it is not a true "double-lock" system. I know on my 2023 F-Type, the interior lock/unlock button and the door handles are always active to open the door. The only difference is when locked (and armed) it will set off the alarm.
Back on track I hope...I have tested various wiring jumpers etc and non have faked out the BMS as it continues to cycle charge and drain my Lithium battery... Sooooooo my current solution is to un-plug the double wire plug at the battery neg. post location and the charging system shows a fault on the dash however it continues to charge at 13.5 volts keeping my battery full per my AntiGravity Battery Tracker. The charging system fault does not show on my Blue Driver Code reader so cannot be cleared and if it could I believe it would come back after each start up. Someday I'll get help from a electronics hobbyist on installing a diode in the system.

I have a Powertex lifep04 battery installed. I've never experienced a low charge or any issues in the 6 months I've had it, but at the same time this battery doesn't have the auto-shutoff or jumpstart functionality. I noticed when I first installed it and went on a long drive, the start-stop system was working; since then it hasn't. It would make sense given your observation of the car purposefully discharging it to 12V. I've just purchased a lithium ion battery charger. Will see if this makes an difference regarding the floating voltage levels.
