Default Puddle and Footwell Lights Dead

Hey there,

Both my footwell lights and puddle lights (in footwell, and the ones on the bottom of the door) - are all out. Everything else in the car is 100% fine.

Are these on the same fuse? Would my aftermarket puddle lights be causing an issue (they were working fine) - is the circuit based on some bad design so if a bulb fails the entire linear circuit is dead?

Let me know - it's annoying! Appreciate any help.

Try resetting the interior lighting by holding you hand up to the centre roof light for 2 or 3 seconds, then wait for the "double flash".
Of course that might just succeed in turning all the interior lights off, so if that happens do it again to turn at least the overhead lights back on!

My interior lights stopped working about a month after I installed the aftermarket puddle lamps. I reinstalled the original lamps & everything has been ever sense.

They are all integrated. Sounds like your aftermarket bulbs may have a resistance or polarity issue and the circuit is shutting down for protection. Best bet is to put OEM back in and after recycling ignition/ Canbus see if they operate normally again.

I have LED footwell, and aftermarket puddle lights in mine and all works fine.

If the aftermarket puddle light shorted, it will turn the others off - had this happen to me a while ago. Had to buy new puddle lights. Not sure if you illuminated door sills, but they will go out also.

Unhappy Puddle & Foot well lights out

So I installed new logo puddle lights, now they and the interior foot well lights are out. I can't determine which fuse box the fuse could be in as I do not see anything that would sound like these lights listed. In previous posts I've read were people have said to recycle the ignition / Canbus, I'm not sure what that means or how to do it.. Then someone said to hold your hand up to the center roof light for it to flash twice. Touching the light turns it on & off, just holding my hand up over it does nothing. I've reinstalled the factory puddle lights, but still out, any help is appreciated.
