Default Puddle lights

So went to swap out my growler puddle lights for the jaguar leaper ones, when i fitted them they went on no problem, but after been on for a few minutes with the doors open they began to blink on and off, 5-6 blinks then off. Took them out and tried on a 12v battery i had and same thing so not a car issue, even swapped the wires around, when i disconnected the battery power and put it on again they came on but went into the blink mode again after been on for a while, and still the same, anyone have this with theirs

Probably defective. For the nominal cost, return the purchased and get a new set.
Mine were plug and play. Easiest to install. Came with the plug and wire attached for my 15 R.
You already know it's not the car.

Have contacted seller so will probably get another set, I liked the growler type but they don't seem to have a clear display on the ground as the leaper ones. These sets are easy to install so will try again when new ones come

I had an issue with the set I put in my car. The interior lights stopped working. I put the original ones back in no issue. They are nice but seem to have a few issues.

So after further investigation seems some units overheat that's why they start flashing and switch off.

I've had my set of "growler" ones in for two years now and not a single glitch.
Same el cheapo ones as shown above, just the growler instead of the leaper.
Looks like yer pays yer money and yer takes yer chances!

Reasonably clear but not brilliant in the dark (ie just a little blurry), can't see them at all in daylight.
The main downside of mine is there seems to be little or no colour in them, no red around the face, I would prefer mucho red!

Geez...it's like what's the chances of getting 2 bad light bulbs.
I know they come from china. I ordered mine from someone in the U.S. so I didn't have to wait long. Guess I got lucky.

If you want them, order from someone else and return your 2nd set. That s*cks ! Frustrating, but I personally would not give up. But that's just me.

FYI. Unhingd had a set he was willing to get rid of, maybe he still has them.

I have seen some advertised on eBay that say “note- lights turn off after 2 mins to protect circuitry” so maybe it’s by design.

Best $20 mod. Funny, I get more comments about those than anything. When asked if they came with the car always say yes.

It is and aftermarket product. Not from Jag. Check on ebay. Type in Puddle lights for your vehicle or F Type Jaguar. Most sellers have a fitment chart for year and model.

'sfar as I know every single F-Type ever built has the exact same puddle lights from the factory and all we are doing is swapping out the OEM units for after-market logo projector units.

thanks for the quick replies, Magical and OxXFR. I’ll look and see. To my knowledge, my F doesn’t have puddle lights at all. Perhaps they are there and I don’t know how to activate them. Unfortunately, the car is in South Florida and I’m in South Korea. Hope to get home late next week and should be able to take a look.
