Default Question about exhaust piping ....

Hi guys,
First off, I'm 95% sure I'll be getting my R coupe this Saturday from the dealership. We hashed out the pricing, so everything looks go to go at this point.
I'm a former BMW M5 owner driver. The car has a resonator which I had removed and added an X - pipe in its place which made the car much more louder. Does the Jaguar have a resonator which can be removed ? Replacing it with a X - pipe or something similar ? No one has mentioned doing this as a modification to the exhaust system. Thank you for your reply .

Probably because the car is already quite loud, its not really necessary. Also changing the harmonics of this car may not be smart. Adding an X pipe could ruin the wonderful sound it already makes.

some people think it has a resonator, but it's really a crude x pipe (at least on the V6)

The exhaust on the V8 has no resonators and already has an x-pipe...

Here's a picture of the stock setup https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...6/#post1367692

As mentioned the center section on the V8 is already an XPipe.

200 cell catted downpipes is your simplest bolt-on for more sound & power. (Yes, I am a crack dealer.)

Question please, can the race cats be installed without doing a software upgrade ? It might be something I'd like to do.
Thank you

Yes you can install them, but you will get cat efficiency/O2 sensor codes without software.
