Long ago - now that I have my car for 1 full year already - I noticed that my 2015 V6S does not have an "S" on the dashboard, just below the middle vent. Am I the only one who doesn't? Curious. I'd like an "S".

I normally would say yeS but don't you think that that might clash with the understated elegance of my Stratus Grey/Jet F-Type?

 

There are two choices when configuring. One has the "S" and the other does not. There is no price difference, just a choice to be made. Maybe whoever configured it remembered the old joke about the snail buying a sports car and didn't think it was funny.

There's no accounting for taste.

 

I noticed this shortly after I got my car and have wondered them same thing. It seems that the “S” on the dash was deleted with the performance pack option for the V6S models. All the cars I observed with this option did not have the “S”.

Maybe it was to save weight for better performance

The black pack eliminates the S on the dashboard.

 

You may be right that the black pack deletes the “S” as well, however, I do not have the black pack or the “S” on my V6S dash. I do have the performance pack.

I have noticed on the dealer’s lot and on internet searches that all V6S’s without the performance pack had the “S” and those with it did not. I could be wrong but this is simply my observation.

Regardless, I cannot think of a valid reason why it was deleted from some cars. Not huge deal but something that has baffled me as well. Mysterious!

I see you have the black pack. Do you have the performance pack on your car as well?

 

Not mysterious at all. As I noted above, there are two "console finishers" available so it's as simple as making a choice when configuring. It might be that the Performance or Black Pack alters the choices, but for a base model both are available.

 

So, apparently, I'm not alone in this mildly curious affair. Needless to say not having an "S" is nothing to get upset about - George is getting angry! - but, if I had my druthers, would have liked an "S" (and, thank you very much Jimmy Olsen) on the dash. If nothing more than to remind me what I'm driving .

 

No 'S' on my black pack-equipped MY16. We don't have the 'performance pack' in the UK although I may have whatever individual options constitute this pack...

 

For 2016, all performance features (except super performance brakes) are standard on the US "S". The S is on the standard trim dash.

 

I think it detracts from the clean look of the interior.

 

Not sure what the performance pack is? What is included in the performance pack? Mine is an MY14. I have the performance seats and the flat bottomed steering wheel.

I think some of our packs are different but I have everything included in the performance pack listed above.

I think it is the interior black pack that elimates the S.

 

That gets my vote too, seeing as though that very panel is swapped out in the black pack.

 

It's moot but if I had to choice between an "S" on the dash or the flat-bottom steering wheel, I would certainly choice the latter.
