Quicksilver exhaust being developed for F-type
I have been searching around for potential mods for the F-type and things have been fairly limited thus far. I did check out the Quicksilver website and was happy to see that they have an exhaust for the V* and (after emailing them the other day) found out that they will be developing an exhaust for the V^ very soon, which will be ready to go in early 2015. I have used a Quicksilver supersports on me Maserati Grandsport and got a ton of compliments. I also used a Quicksilver on my DB9. My wife thought that the Quicksilver on the Maser sounded a lil obnoxious though and there were neighbors on the street who knew me simply by the sound of my car.

The dB upgrades look nice. This will turn the F-Type's exhaust into that "always loud, even at idle or low RPMs" exhaust you see in Ferraris and especially Lambos.
That being said, the other day I was driving next to a Lambo in bumper to bumper traffic for about a mile or two. In that situation, my F-Type V8s was quiet, but his car was super loud and growly even at very low RPMs. But as great as his car sounded, I could see that "always loud" sound becoming annoying after a while.
So it's a tough call. Do you stay with the current F-Type exhaust which is quiet most times, but which can get really loud at 4000 RPMs and above, or do you go with one of these always loud exhausts.

I'm looking forward to hearing their clips of the Quicksilver for the V6 once they have completed it early next year. I am wondering if will sound incredibly raspy, high pitched, or growling? I would think a combo of the first two. I have already done a resonator delete on my exhaust and am curious as to how that would affect the Quicksilver sound if at all?

Got an email the other day saying that my Quicksilver exhaust for the F-type will be the first one shipped to the USA. They will be sending it out early next week. I was hoping to get the new exhaust and the new tires put on at the same time (tire rack has a back-order for the Mich Pilot SS rears).
Here is some updated details of the new exhaust sound quality from the Quicksilver website:
The best sounding Jaguar ever ?
Many journalists have written that the Jaguar F Type V6 has the best sounding exhaust on the road. We say that the V6's sonorous range of notes is very impressive.
The F Type V6 has the option of an 'Active Exhaust' button that sounds pretty good from the factory. However.... QuickSilver have developed a 'Sports' exhaust that makes the best even better.
We raise the note at high rpm, deepen the bass at low speed and exaggerate the percussion on the over-run > all to amplify the fun.
Saves 7.8 kilos (17 lbs)and looks unique with carbon-fibre tips.

Quicksilver.........Naw, join the Capristo club. I ordered the full Capristo system a little over two weeks ago for my R. Should receive the order sometime next week! I'll keep you guys posted and upload a video clip of the sound track. I'm hoping to get some GoPro's set on the beast while I go down some tunnels and down some empty roads! Should be exciting! Be looking out for that in the next week or so!

Well regardless of how it sounds at least the system would do away with the vacuum pump, vacuum canisters, hoses, valves, two sets of pipes going into or bypassing the giant muffler, the giant muffler itself All told, I am guessing 100 unnecessary pounds of complexity. Too bad all the weight comes off the rear but at least it is a start.
