Default R Coupe rear brake calipers....

Hi guys,
i am trying to find a solution for the car's unatrractive single-piston floating rear caliper design. In my opinion it doesn't look good because it looks puny when compared with the large front calipers. I contacted Stop Tech and I found out they dont make BBK for the Jaguar F Type. Not enough demand to justify making brakes for our cars. I was also told Brembo does not offer brakes for our car. I was hoping to swap out the stock rear calipers with an aftermarket 4 piston caliper so it appears cosmetically better the OEM rear brake calipers.
Your thoughts please.
Thank you.

Don't forget about the electric parking brake.

I hate sliding-yoke calipers too, but am more interested in the front. I don't see it happening anytime soon.

Lizzardo makes an excellent point. This document shows how the EPB actuator interacts with the rear calipers.

What are the rotor diameters?

front rotors are the same, rear are 5mm smaller.

not sure if we share the same master cylinder or if that would need to be swapped out as well based on piston sizing. the move for me is not about looks, but about better pad selection with the brembo caliper.

another option would be to use the calipers that come with carbon ceramic brakes and replacing for iron rotors.

Those are 398/380, where the Super Performance are 380/376. That seems within the realm of possibility, given proper mounting brackets.

I wouldn't do it for looks either, but the cost to get what I want is probably prohibitive for me. I just find it irksome that even the "Super Performance" option didn't come with opposed piston calipers.

agreed. jaguar really cheaped out with the calipers on these cars especially considering the price. the limited pad choice irks me more than anything because it's such a small production car.

getting brackets made is the easy part. i've been casually looking at upgrading the calipers for a while now, but getting the information needed to try to piece together a solution has been tough

Default Guys ...

If you find a viable solution please do let me know what can be done. As long as it's not an insane project.

Thanks guys.

I was told Jaguar went to these brakes in their R's years ago because so many people complained about the sqeaking of the Brembos. They don't look as nice but work well, they produce more dust because the rotors wear along with the pads.

Default Guys question ...

Stop Tech does not make/offer calipers for our car.
Does Brembo offer calipers for the F Type?
Thanks.

brembo makes the ccm calipers for the ftype. jlr also uses brembo calipers on several specs on the range rover model line.

I have the OEM carbon ceramic brakes that came on my R and I can confirm they are made by Brembo specifically for the F type according to my service advisor. I can also confirm they squeak like crazy. They look amazing but the squeaking just doesn't suit a car I paid $125 K for.

I looked on line and says not available for the f type. Seems strange they don't make aftermarket Brembo or Baer for the f type.

it's not the caliper that causes the squeeking. its a combination of rotor, pad, and temps. ccm brakes universally squeek on the street across all manufacturers ... it's just the nature of the materials and temps

Those brakes are beautiful though.
