This may be totally naive and covered elsewhere, but would a company like JLR ever partner/certify a tune or other modifications from a reputable and proven company like Velocity? I realize that you could argue this takes money out of their pockets, but I don't believe that everyone would suddenly be buying the base model and getting a tune just because they could without fear of voiding the warranty. I'm guessing that JLR would only consider such an arrangement if there was 'something in it for them' and I'm not sure how that would work.

I'm sure this is something that has previously been considered but I didn't see anything talking about it.

It wouldn’t make sense for them. Apart from the fact it completely destroys their ability to differentiate, and charge for different models based on engine tune, they would also have to provide warranty on any engine failures for a tune they did not create.

I have vap tune with my v8s. Have run the R, SVR, and custom vap tune and I can tell you it make a huge difference. But after doing runs with all 4 including stock tune, the Goldie setting is definitely the svr tune. I feel the vap custom tune makes the car undrivable. It just makes it way to hard for the rwd v8s to lay the power down.

Get better tires, learn throttle modulation.

I agree better tires would make a huge difference but even with throttle modulation the car just spins the rears to much. The svr tune lays power down just better. But I I just picked up a set of mpss so maybe that makes the difference

So many threads around here could be resolved by this sage advice. Seriously folks, if you are running P Zero's, do not post about traction issues. Ever. Get better tires, then lets talk. .

I for one am looking forward to a VAP 605 tune on my (gasp) rwd F type....

The P-zeros sure have poor traction when it is cold. Worse even more when wet. I believe the secret is controlled throttle modulation.

great discussion... I already have MPSS on my V8S... do you all really think that putting the 550 hp tune on it is a bad move?

If you are used to driving powerful RWD cars you will be OK with the SVR 575 hp tune.

Or even the 600+hp tune w/pulley. You might not be able to use full power from standstill, but it won't go wasted at higher speeds.
