Hello all,

anybody knows where I can find the security code for my radio and/or amplifier?
I was directed to a sticker inside the glove compartment, but there is no sticker there.

Paul: is the radio non-operative at present or is this just a concern before disconnecting the battery? If the latter, the radio will not lose its continuity with disconnecting (at least not in the short term). I have not seen a code sticker in the glovebox of my F-Type.

 

Thanks, but it's a different situation. My amp went bad, so I replaced it. And the new one just did the same. So I want to have my original one repaired, but apparently, I still need the code to repair the amp.
Which I find weird.

 

On Fords, you can reset without the pin. Obviously, this may not work on a Jag, but there's some hope, given the shared history:

1. Turn on the ignition.
2. If the screen says CODE then turn off the radio.
3. Press and hold the Power/Volume button for 40-50 seconds.
4. It should unlock your radio in under a minute.

Meanwhile, a dealer should be able to get it with your VIN (which also provides proof of ownership).

Also, there is a UK website that says they can provide the code with the radio's S/N (for a fee), but I've never tried it.
