Raising Miss Daisy
I had our ’16 F Type 6 spd already tucked away in the garage for the winter. But seeing that Canadian winters can be downright long and brutal, I wanted to have the option this winter of taking Miss Daisy out for a spin now and then.
I am not known to have any redneck tendencies, but I had installed a beefed up drive-train, a nice 8” lift kit and put on off road 30” rims / snow tires. While the F was in for those modifications, I also had installed at the same time a class 3 trailer hitch, in case I case I am able to drive down for the 2016 Lobster Run that RickyJay52 is coordinating and want to bring back a trailer load of fresh lobsters (still have to check with Canada Customs to see what my allowable return limit is).
Appreciating that this aforementioned approach may be going against the grain, or tastes, of some others on this forum, before casting aspersion, please first consider and the many other potential side benefits (including eliminating once and for all the common chin spoiler scraping issue, and retaining for as long as possible that new car smell).
Of course, since I preferred the build quality and design to equal that of a nice new Range Rover Autobiography or similar, the build included a quick disconnect to revert back with ease to the “regular”suspension and tires and no trailer hitch.
Wondering if anyone else is contemplating any similar modifications?
