I just came back from one of my weekend drives, and when I parked, I found this wire just dangling out from my rear passenger.
Upon inspection, it came through here.
Zoomed out for better perspective.
The wire itself doesn't look like it's connected to anything that I can see. My car's not having any problems or throwing any codes. The wire itself looks like it was either snipped clean off or wasn't connected to anything in the first place. Seems to be a ground wire, I think. Maybe the antenna wire for the radio? I'm about to tear out the trunk's interior trim to find out where that wire goes, which unfortunately looks like a real PITA. If anyone has an idea what that wire is and what it's supposed to connect to, please let me know!
If anyone has other tips, or how it's supposed to mount for a convertible, let me know. My guess is when I took it to the shop to have the rear bumper repainted, the workers pulled the bumper out, missed the little antenna wire that's supposed to be unclipped first, then just sort of Jimmy'd it back on. It's back on now, should be okay for the foreseeable future.
