I see the spoiler raised in dealerships. Can they be manually deployed at speeds under 80 clicks?

They can be raised while stationary for cleaning purposes...

Doh . . . While I certainly knew this and played with raising the spoiler while stationary shortly after I took delivery, in all the time since, I've forgotten about it. I've never thought about raising it to clean it, so here I am probably driving around most of the time with an immaculately detailed vehicle, and probably displaying a pretty grimy spoiler underside at speed.

While you're at it, you should stencil the words" BYE - BYE!" on the underside. 😜

Funny you should mention that. My office is investigating that very incident as we speak.

Default Speeding and Spoiler

I would love to fight a speeding ticket issued under the guise that my spoiler was deployed. No cops knows what each mfg sets their speed limit for deploying the spoiler.

I've been stopped by instant-on Radar detectors (even with my radar detector) and I will call BS on anything that says cops use spoilers being deployed as a way to determine who to point their detectors at.

As was said above, it's more than likely just a visual reminder to an officer to point a radar or laser gun in your direction.

Please explain. Investigating on your car, or something else you've seen.

Sorry, it has nothing to do with cars. I was commenting on an incident discussed in a recent news story where "BYE BYE" was written on the oil-smudged tail-cone of a commercial airliner.

I took my car out for a long drive with a group of friends today and made a point of manually deploying and retracting it several times at speeds under 80kmh. No problems.

It would have been nice to have a feature to not deploy the spoiler at highway speeds for mileage issues. I don't think visibility is an issue after all you can still turn on your rear view camera while driving if you really have to see behind you. Remember to clean the lens once in awhile also.

Agree with the point about having the option to not deploy the spoiler at most highway speeds.
