Thanks...I am actually newer to Jaguars...more exert on Porsches, but I am enjoying learning (spelled, spending money) these cars. I will see if I can ascertain that information and let you know... Not sure, but will see if I can find out.

Anybody make any progress on this mod? Anyone determine which parts are actually needed, or finished the job? I have been pre-occupied with my drivetrain issues, so haven't ordered or done any more on this project.

I have ordered it and already received. Almost sure it will fit in place of R diffuser, but won't be able to confirm before mid of Feb.

So did you just order the lower piece? Or the black valence (that holds the reverse lights) too?

Interested to see when finished.

Thanks!

Thanks...I just ordered the lower piece as well...Not sure how long it will take to get here, and still working with a drivetrain issue/non-driving car right now...but will put it on (or try) when it gets here and I have my car back...

I figure worst case, I will have to order the other piece (and be patient) if it does not fit!

Good luck with yours...be sure to post some pics and info if/when you get it done.

Mine came in about 2 weeks from order (they treat SVR parts as special orders).
IMO it has to fit without buying top part, but at Jag nobody was able to confirm this.

My research confirmed you need the black valance as well as the diffuser, as the whole assembly is wider than on the R. I did the research about a year ago, but haven’t got around to ordering it yet.

I have one ordered and I will check. May be correct, but hard to imagine how it would be wider when they both share the same exact bumper cover (part number and all)?

I guess I will see when it comes in. The first place cancelled my order and gave me no reason...maybe they do treat these like Project 7 grilles? Not sure why...

That's my exact assumption too.
Not exact same angle but pretty close

Agreed, Same bumper cover, but valance goes lower and goes round corner towards rear wheels making the diffuser slightly lower and wider as a result.

just what I have seen and told by Jaguar. Happy to be proved wrong when you parts arrive.

Guardian - Great pictures...Very nice comparison. Thanks..

apr1962 - I appreciate the info, and certainly not arguing, so thanks for posting(you may be 100% correct). My approach is simply, since we cannot verify for certain... I did not want to double the cost if not needed. After I get the lower valence, and test it, if it appears it won't fit...then we will know for certain and I will just have to order the other part(s) at that time...no biggie. But if I ordered them both, and found I only needed 1 of them...I would have a $600 paperweight left over

Will keep you all posted, if/when my part gets here.

Isn’t the center muffler different on the SVR ?
Thought I read somewhere that the mufflers affected aero enough to facilitate a design change.

You are correct! The SVR has two separate mufflers as opposed to the one big one like the R. And there is an additional panel on the SVR to address that.

If it fits I'll order one for my 14 v8s. Excited to see results from you! Would look great with the maxton front and side spoiler I've been looking at.

Well....This finally showed up today! It "appears" it may work with existing parts, but hard to tell. The installation in the workshop manual CLEARLY states to NOT Attempt install if it is cold...We are at 12 degrees windchill...so I think that qualifies and will have to wait. I am not sure if I want it white, or black? It has a pretty black shiny finish on it, so I may try it as is, and then paint white if I change my mind??

I have also included relevant portions of the manual for any others looking to install one. If/when it warms up, I will test out my new lift again...and see if I can rip the old one off and install?

If any others have now done this, please report your experience.

Take care,
DC

I put the procedure to R and R the SVR Diffuser on my drive HERE

Here s what the Lower Panel looks like:

thanks for doing this DC. Please keep us updated! -3 degrees temp here, so I won’t be doing this anytime soon either but I’d probably order the part soon

At a pinch you could heat the part up using a hairdryer, that is what I did when fitting a new front diffuser/splitter.

Yes. Good idea. I could put the heater on in the garage too and warm it up a bit. It is just no fun right now at -6 F and -22 F windchill ...So I will likely wait a bit so it is more enjoyable. It says it should be over 65 F. My garage is 1000 + Sq. Ft....With -6 outside I have to run the heater a lot to keep it that warm....And then, when I do...My wife or kids pull in and open a door!

Thanks,
DC
