Maybe this applies only to later AWD models?
No, that’s for all F-types, as far as I know. The rear hook is only used during shipping.

I tried to reach my hand back there, but it seems quite stuck and not sure I want to break anything should I be pushing incorrectly.
The V6 and V8 rear tow hook covers are different shapes. A narrow spackling knife can be safely used to pry the cover from the bumper face. That tow location should never be used with an AT.

Thanks for confirming. I'm switching over to the OE quad diffuser and wasn't sure if I needed to order a new piece as well... About $90 shipped for that dang thing, but I did end up ordering.

If you still have it, I'll buy it... Or not best ask for measurements of reverse thread...!
I'm stuck on wet grass, front is two feet from wall and pointing slightly down. Rear tires are less than two feet from the road but still couldn't reverse onto it. Wheels spinning even after trying mates, boards, etc. Therefore, need slight help from rear toe hook/tie down under power to get onto the road...

As stated here, in the manual and elsewhere, the black rear tow hook is not for towing. It is used as a tie down during shipment.

It's really a question of how much pull you want from that end. If it's just to get traction aid for a couple of feet, you're probably OK as long as you take it easy on the initial engagement.

Basically, it's literally less than two feet and even then I'm thinking of finding a proper cast iron or steel version/copy locally from an auto shop or somewhere

If I come across mine, you can have it. Not sure where it is.

I was told that towing using the rear hook is likely to bend the frame member it screws into due to the angle. It angles down because it is a shipping tie down anchor point. Pulling on it parallel to the ground would create torque on the anchor point. Makes sense to me.

That's what I've heard too, and having looked at the place it threads in I'm sure that's the case.

Does it look like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/15556984855...3ABFBMgOX1i9Zi

There was one of these in my trunk too. Funny that we have an Aston Martin towhook that we should not use...

I’ve removed the front cover many times, it comes off easily. Haven’t had any reason to remove the rear cover.

Be careful. You can't tow with it, and it seems to be useless for anything but a tie down while shipping, and only then if chain or strap you use follows the angle of the bolt hole in the frame.

I have bought a design pack diffuser and I need the cover to switch to the new one

Mine is in storage since so I can't easily check, but as I recall, you can see the back of it from underneath and reach up to squeeze in the hook parts that snap into place. If you're swapping the diffusers, it'll be even more obvious when it's off.

I had to drive around for a bit without it because my closeout NOS CF unit was missing that cover and I had to fabricate one. I tried my original but it did not fit. The shape was just a little off. I made one out of CF sheet and hand-fitted it. It was a pain, but came out well. I don't even notice the slight mismatch in weave anymore.

I’d guess it isn’t designed to come off easily from the exterior, as it’s designed to be installed once, after shipment. Mine too is in storage for 3-4 more weeks.

I meant that my original diffuser is in storage, not my entire car
