I took that rear tow hook cover once a few years ago, just to check how to do so.
From memory I simply pried it off using the smallest/thinnest plastic trim tool in my kit.

 

Old thread, but germane to my needs. I've been beating my head against a wall trying to find a rear tie-down hook/eye for the F type. I wish to take mine up on my car hauler and it would fit nicely. I think (not sure) it's a left hand thread 14 mm, but that is not critical - if any of you folks have one I'd be happy to take it off your hands. I can't find anything out there. Purportedly the dealerships are advised to discard the tie-down eye when the cars are delivered. I only have my front tow eye - larger diameter.

I can send you a shipping label, etc and whatever is a reasonable price. Please advise. regards
