Default Rear valence attachment Q

I was under my '16 R a while back just looking around to see if anything needed attention, and noticed that it appears my rear valence has unbonded or detatched from some center bracing. There's two braces in the center attached to the subframe that look kind of like brake shoes on posts, and there's matching marks in the underside of the rear valence as though it used to be attached to those braces. Can anyone confirm this? My warranty is up soon and I want to make sure I get this corrected under warranty in case they have to replace the whole assembly rather than just re-glue it or something...

Yes...Pics would help. Cannot quite understand what you are referring to.

Sorry guys, photos really do help. So I noticed when washing the lower valence that when I push on this part of the body-colored panel between the two dual exhaust tips it flexes a lot, and felt that it would be catching air at speed and wouldn't be good.

Underneath, there's two of these brackets shown below, about a foot or so spaced out from eachother. Now that I went under there with a flashlight so I could actually see well, it certainly appears like they are supposed to be attached somehow...like that pad is some sort of adhesive or something.

Yes. It appears that the adhesive has failed on the mounting points (where the bracket should attach back to the body). You can clearly see the gap and the hole where it was mounted against the car. Either take it to a dealer if you have a warranty or a collision center, or if you are the least bit handy with working on cars, I would just clean the surfaces very well, scuff them up (the mounting points), and wipe with degreaser or alcohol, and apply some two-part epoxy, and you should be good. If possible, I would detach the bracket first so it is not pulling on it while it cures. Many newer epoxies set up pretty hard in about 5 minutes, and totally cure in a few hours to 24 hours.

Good luck.

Thanks DC, appreciate the photo. I do still have a short bit of time left on the warranty, so I'll have to make an appointment soon.

Looks like it was a pre-cut piece of foam with adhesive on both sides. If it's available separately, that might be better than an epoxy. If there is indication that something caught the diffuser and pulled it free, it might not get covered under warranty (physical damage).

Late to the response party but I agree, see if the dealer will fix it under warranty, if not epoxy would do the job.

Yeah, I had that thought too. I'm the 2nd owner, so I don't necessarily know all the history, but it supposedly came with all service records. Looks pretty clean under there. No scrapes or anything.

Wanted to follow up on this in case it pops up in anyone's searches. Jaguar of Tampa took care of me on this. They're ordering entire new brackets, not just the adhesive pads, to replace the whole assembly. Covered under warranty, no questions asked (other than them pulling a carfax to make sure there was no history of rear end damage). Should be in this week to get it fixed up. Thanks for the help validating this, guys!
