Default rebate

Just wondering how long after taking delivery on a new car does it take to get the rebate from JLR? Had the PIN verification form turned in to the dealer when I picked up the car on Dec. 24. Have not seen the check yet.....

My experience is that JLR North America is slow on this. I had to keep asking my dealer about it every few weeks. I bought mine in mid-August, and finally got the check in late October. Even at that they sent it to the dealer and he had to forward it to me.

I picked my car up on November 6th and am still waiting. Not sure if it is the dealer or JLR but dealer was very slow responding after the deal was done. I already asked them once and got a "we will check and let you know". one week later nothing. Next step: call JLR and see where is the delay.

I had all the paperwork in before the pickup, and the rebate was applied to the down payment. Everything was handled by the dealer, before delivery.

+1. JLR does not issue a check. The PIN is to be entered into the JLR sales system when the dealer records the sale with JLR. JLR then adjusts the factory invoice accordingly, and the dealer should then adjust the sale price to the customer.

The dealer either did not pass that discount along to you (as they are obligated to under the program) or they failed to enter the discount PIN at time of sale entry into the system. JLR will not honor that PIN post sale.

This is all info as of July 2015. It may have changed since.

Default My experience.

It seems the JCNA rebate is handled differently among the dealers. In my case, the dealer had no idea what it was all about; he said they had never processed one, but told me, "You tell me what to do and I'll do it." I gave him the PIN I received from JCNA, and he filed the paper work with JLR, copying me. The rebate was not applied to my sales price; I was told it was a rebate after the sale. The dealer told me the check for $2500 would be mailed directly to me. I waited... and waited. After a month I inquired of him via email, and he forwarded my note to JLR. They replied, "the check will be in the mail before the end of the month" (September 2015). That date came and went, no check. I emailed the dealer again in mid-October, same process. JLR replied, "Will send next week." No check arrived. One more time I emailed the dealer. He replied the check had been received by their Parts Department, and they would send me a check the following week. Check was finally received from the dealer at the end of October. Yes, the check came from the dealer, not JLR.
