X-Type won't turn over
I have owned my 2002 2.0 V6 X-Type about 2 months, it was fairly cheap so isn't in the best condition but started without fail everytime...the engine always started without any issue, once started the engine ticks over a little lumpy, when driving tends to hiccup until you reach 2000 revs...last week the car just stopped trying to start, when you turn the key the dash lights up, but when turned into the third position nothing happens. We have had a bit of cold weather recently but the battery seems fine, tried to jump but still nothing. I have checked all fuses, made sure battery terminals are tight etc. Has anyone please got any suggestions, as i didn't pay a lot for the car i don't want to spend a fortune on it, would be a shame to see it go to the scrap yard.

Its a manual, when i try to start it there is no click or anything that would lead me to believe the starter was trying, the only thing that happens when i turn the key to start it is the radio powers down as it does when you start the car...

More than likely you need a new battery. They can go without warning.
As for the rough running engine, it could be a number of things, usually pretty minor and not expensive to fix. If you have a check engine light on have the codes read and post here and someone more than likely could quickly diagnose the issue and point you in teh right direction
