XK8 won't start in cold
I have an xk8 2004 year. With cold engine, won't start. Insisting on the starter motor, the motor will start in "reduced power". the engine runs erratic with 6 or 7 cylinders for 30 minutes. Restarting the warm engine, the problem no longer exists. What can cause this problem?. Thanks for your help. Feldona

Thank you. I don't know the OBD2 code. I will document, then I update. Diagnostics detects an incorrect number of engine revolutions. the sensor was replaced, the problem remains. Diagnostics detects error in three reels. all the coils were replaced. the wiring has been checked. the problem remains. Thanks for your help. Feldona
Welcome to the forum feldona,
From the symptoms you describe, my first thought would be a faulty ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor but having the OBD2 codes read first is always the way to begin troubleshooting these cars.

Hi Graham. Thank you for your intervention. Unfortunately non-detects flaws in the ECT sensor. can I make a further check after 07 January. do you have other suggestions. Thank you. feldona
Get that battery checked. Cold weather plays havoc on batteries. The battery not only supplies power to the starter but there needs to be sufficient voltage for the ignition system.

Hello Roy. Thank you. the voltage to the engine control unit, has a value between 12 and 13 volts. the ambient temperature is between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius. feldona

Sorry for not being more specific. Have your battery tested for a load situation. Most auto parts shops will check it for free. My battery did not fail but shown as weak. Several electrical issuers went away when I replaced it.
What is the voltage while the starter is turning? If below about 9.7 volts, a battery issue is in play. Otherwise there is probably something else going on.
