Default Rejoining the Cult

A couple weeks ago I placed an order for a 2022 F-Type.

I had leased a 2014 when they first came out (see my sig for details) and joined up here. We weren't using it as much at the end of the lease as we were at the beginning, so we decided not to buy it at the end of the lease.

We went a summer without a convertible and got the itch again. I bought a 3 year old CPO MB SL400 with 5,000 miles on the clock. Built like a tank and the operation of the top is a thing of beauty. But, it was kind of ..... boring. A nice cruiser I guess, but most times we were in it we remarked about how we missed the growl of the F-Type and the exterior styling as well.

I convinced the better half that we should get rid of the MB and get an F-Type specced exactly the way we (er.. I mean I) wanted. Ain't getting any younger, and the MB will never be worth more than it it is right now. So that's how I convinced myself.

I placed my order a couple weeks ago!

2022 F-Type P 450 RWD
British Racing Green
Tan Windsor Leather Performance Seats
Tan / Ebony Interior
Black Top (tan top is too beige for my tastes, shame it's not browner)
Blind Spot Assist Pack
Interior Luxury Pack
HomeLink
Auto-Dimming, Power Fold, Heated Door Mirrors w/ Memory
Wind Deflector
Power Adjustable Steering Column w/ Memory
Keyless Entry
Interior Black Pack
12-Way Heated & Cooled Electric Memory Front Seats
Build Date: 2/11/22
Delivery Date: 4/1/22

Gonna be a loooonnnngggg winter....

Welcome back! The Merc is a fine gentleman's car. But, it's good to be bad. (As you can see, I stuck with the original.)

Congratulations. I think you will find that the classic combination of BRG and tan leather will draw a lot of compliments wherever you go. I think part of it is because there are not many newer cars out there in a green color, and of course because it's a Jaguar.

Congratulations! Well done, LMS. You are going to love it. My '22 was ordered in March of '21 and I took delivery in late September...almost exactly 6 mos. It will go by fast. Cheers!

Congrats! Brilliant spec! I'm obviously biased but think that BRG + the extended leather package in Sienna tan and performance seats is the best you can get in the F-Type. Looks just fabulous.

On a point of accuracy - owning a Jaguar isn't a cult, there's no brainwashing needed!

I don't get why there aren't more green cars in general out there. I had two Audis that were green and loved the look as long as I had them. I guess silver and black and white and red are just safer for dealers to buy.

In the UK green cars are considered unlucky - more prone to be involved in accidents, etc. I've never seen any evidence to back this up, and have occasionally got some very good deals on green cars that have been stuck in stock for a year.

LMS, Congratulations on the new F type. I see you are in western NY. I expect you may be purchasing at the local Jag dealer there? I will be bringing my SVR for service a couple weeks after your pickup. I will be on the on the lookout for the new BRG 22 F type!

Welcome back. Agreed on the BRG with Tan. My wife has it in her F Pace and it's glorious.

Perhaps green cars are lucky in Ireland??
Afterall, BRG evolved from Shamrock Green color used in 1903 to represent UK race cars in Ireland
I have the BRG/tan combination. Was not sure about the tan when I ordered but loved at first glance.

Did you trade the 2014 F type for the '22?

No - the 2014 was a 3 year lease. Traded in the Mercedes.
