Perfectly reliable - but like all modern luxury cars, they need full battery voltage all the time or gremlins crop up.A 2017 car is under warranty so repair costs should be a non-issue.

I've had 4 jaguars starting from a 2001 XK8 and all have been reliable. The bad old days of Jaguar unreliability are long gone! Main expense will be fuel and tyres. And therapy to strengthen your grin muscles.

The bad old days of Jaguar unreliability are still with us. If you are getting a Jag, be prepared to own and maintain a Jag.

As with all high-end models, things like routine maintenance will be more expensive. Think $350 USD for a yearly oil change rather than $50 at a Jiffy Lube.

But at least it ain't as expensive as a McClaren ($15,000)!

I agree with your last statement, but maintaining doesn't equate to unreliability. Since 2007 I've had a Nissan Almera (voted most reliable car in the UK at the time of its build, 2001) as a backup for my Jaguars and it hardly ever gets used. So my experience is that modern Jags are very reliable.

As with any car, you can find people who have had a bad experience. However, the majority of owners rarely have any issues and only deal with the normal wear items on the cars.

I am quite happy with the reliability over the last 4 years and 32k miles. Once the fuel filler and clutch issues were resolved, it’s been trouble free.

I have not had the best of luck, starting with a motor at 20k, HP pumps, 28k, 4x injectors 38k, 4x injectors, 41k, Drivers Motor mount 42k, But i am hard on my car, rally ever weekend, track time, key west trips, also im on my 10th set of rear tires. So i may not be the best example of "reliability", i will say that these cars so far have been a joy to work on, seriously much easier then some! AND JLR has really stepped up at least with mine when i had a warranty.

Example:

My experience has been more similar to yours. I wouldn't call these cars reliable, but I still think they're worth it.

Part of me would like to total up my repairs / maintenance but I'm a bit afraid of it.
