Default Remove Drip Moulding

Hey All,

New to the forums and only Purchased my F-Type today, will take deliver in a a few days. It has the Black Pack and id like to get it back to chrome which involves removing and replacing the grill surround, side vents and the trim around the door which im told is 3 pieces call the drip moulding, front molding and belt moulding. the side vents and grill seem easy enough and I've found people doing on youtube, but the trim/drip molding scares me. Does anyone know how hard it is and maybe have advise on how to do it? I did look through the service manual that I downloaded from here for an hour and couldn't find it. I will be selling the bits I take off if anyone is interested.

If you're trying to remove the trim around the windows you'll have to be very careful not to wreck them - they're tough to remove.

If you wanted chrome you should have bought a car so equipped. (Sorry)

As an alternative, how about some contrasting highlights, instead, to make your F more unique?

I offer these pictures of the "400" special edition.

Hey nw247.

Congratulations on your beautiful F-Type. It is beautiful just the way it is. I recognize there is no accounting for taste, but I actually ordered my '22 in Santorini black, black leather, black leather headliner, interior and exterior black packs and all black wheels. Your F-Type will get all the attention you'll want just the way she is. But, make her just the way you want. I will say, drip molding tends to be difficult to remove without damaging it. Best!

Hi, I have a 2019 R-dynamic and am looking to go from chrome to black! Looks like you have a 2018 R-dynamic so the parts should fit. Are you still looking to sell the side vents and front grill surround? I am in Los Angeles and am looking to purchase these parts.

Also, how did the removal of the drip molding and belt go? I am looking to remove mine and have them painted gloss black. And you mentioned there was a third part- the drip molding, belt and front molding? What piece is the front molding?

Thanks,
Brad

I have only seen these two parts- 5 in the first pic is the belt and 4 in the second pic is the drip molding. Not sure if there is a third part, front molding? I am considering just purchasing these in gloss black although the prices are outrageous.
Thanks!
