Has anybody tried to remove brake pedal assembly? By service manual I have to disassemble steering column, which I am not so happy about. So I am wondering if perhaps it is possible to remove the pedal box directly. Then I want to remove the brake pedal, which is not documented because it is one part number.

Thank you
Funny thing, I removed all of this a couple of months ago to replace my accelerator. When I was putting the pedal back in, the bolts became bound up with some old loc-tite and that caused me to remove the WHOLE brake pedal assembly and alot of other systems. I didn't take any pictures but maybe I can explain the process...... AND NO, I did not have to remove the steering column.
Go under the dash and disconnect the accelerator pedal and the steering column. Remove the bolts to the firewall that connect the brake booster to the brake pedal assembly.
Go into the engine bay and remove the brake booster assembly and move the computer (Do not unplug the computer). The booster does not have to be completely removed but take the bolts out and you will have the room to disconnect from the pedal assembly.
If you take your time and go slow, everything can be moved a little to the left and right to clear the pedal assembly. I wish I would have been able to take pictures at the time, but I was on a time crunch and the wife said she wanted the car back!! LOL
Good luck and if you have any questions, I'll try to help.
