Default Removing Fixed Rear Spoiler

Hey guys, recently an f type r just came up and I was thinking of swapping my v6 for it. I have always had a lust for the svr and if I go for it I am going to do a full SVR bodykit conversion. However the R on sale has a hideous oem fixed spoiler.

Does anyone know if I can remove this for the SVR deployable spoiler as I believe the car doesnt even have the deploy spoiler button you would normally get.

Worst case, I am willing to go no spoiler or just a small ducktail trunk spoiler possibly from arden, but this brings another great question.. Will having no deployed spoiler or a small trunk spoiler affect handling at high speeds? Thank you and hoping to gain some help and knowledge.

The OEM fixed spoiler is far from being hideous - are you sure it's an OEM one?

Sorry, just personal taste.. I much prefer the smooth clean lines plus it doesnt fit the SVR look I will be going for which is why the svr spoiler is an exception 😆 call me a hypocrite if you will 😁

any help will be much appreciated 👍

Guys so it seems this oem svr spoiler comes with the actuator mechanism, my question would be having the fixed spoiler on the r would any further neccassery wiring/coding etc.. be needed, I know for sure I would need to change the centre console area as the car doesn’t have the wing deploy button..

I hear ya, I too am not a real fan of that particular fixed spoiler you are referring to. The SVR one is certainly nicer, but I generally prefer seeing the beautiful shape of the F-type without any spoiler. That said, with the look of the SVR I think the SVR spoiler has a place…It suits that variant of the car for sure…

yeah it looks ‘right’ on the SVR to be honest, plus im not sure if I can actuate the normal deployable spoiler as I think the car doesnt have the required wiring/coding for it to operate so I guess my best effort would be to install the svr spoiler in its deployed position and leave it like that, also im not sure if youve seen the svr spoiler in its flat position - it doesnt look very pleasing (not a bugger that it would be always up tbh). I think also not having a spoiler at all would be a big problem at high speeds 300kph+

I am not sure whether or not you would have the wiring for the spoiler button but I would assume you do as I don’t foresee Jaguar having a different wiring harness. If the assumption is right, installing the non SVR spoiler would be fairly simple. The problem with trying to do the SVR conversion is trying to find the parts as I’ve seen several posts that it’s nearly impossible to find them anymore.

And yes, not having a spoiler would affect high speed handling. Hope much so I couldn’t tell you.
