Hi guys,

My current F-Type doesn't have the installed electric boot, but obviously has the holes where it could've been.

Does anyone know if it's possible to add it to the car? Installing the motor or any logic boards required and getting it to work?

The motors are in the struts so you would need two new motorised struts which are not cheap.
Then probably just two buttons/switches (one just above the fog light switch and one on the underside of the hatch although you could probably get away without that one).
Most likely all necessary wiring etc is already in place.
Last but not least and probably the most problematic of all you would need to reprogram using SDD or Pathfinder depending on model year.

 

Only one strut is powered and it’s relatively cheap. As is the trunk button
soft close is already fitted
Be nice if that’s all it was...lol
